About the adventure
What kind of story do you want it to tell? A desperate band of mercenaries crossing a cursed waistland beneath a dying sun? Rebel pilots striking against a galactic empire? Monster hunters stalking horrors in the shadows of a modern city? In FATE of the Unwritten, the setting is not chosen before the game begins. It is created by the people at the table together. We'll decide what kind of world we want to explore, what challenges threaten it, and what heroes will rise to meet them. This is a collaborative one shot using the FATE Core role playing system, a game built around cinematic action, dramatic characters and player driven storytelling. Rather than spending hours studying lure or memorizing rules, we'll focus on creating memorable characters with clear motivations, interesting flaws and strong connections to the world around them. Once we've established the genre and setting, we'll quickly build a cast of protagonists and launch them directly into an adventure tailored to the group's interest. My style as Game Master is highly narrative and collaborative. I enjoy presenting compelling situations, dangerous obstacles, colorful allies and villains and meaningful choices, then, letting the players decide how the story unfolds. Creative solutions are encouraged, character ideas are welcomed and the most exciting moments often come from unexpected twists that emerge naturally through play. Whether you enjoy role playing dramatic character moments, overcoming challenges through clever thinking, or taking bold action in larger than life adventures, you'll find room to shine here. This game is ideal for players who enjoy imagination, collaboration and flexibility. Newcomers are welcome, and experienced FATE players are encouraged to bring their creativity to the table. If you've ever wanted to help create a setting from the ground up and then immediately jump into an exciting adventure within it, Fate of the Unwritten is your chance to do exactly that.

About me
Those kids on Stranger Things...they were us. We were the ones TTRPGs were made for, and we made the most of them. I have, at least, for nearly 45 years. I have played and GMed virtually every genre you can name, and in more systems than I can count. I podcast on the topic (look for "Grognards of Gaming" on the FateMaster Cesium channel on YouTube) and I am the forever-GM. I do enjoy being a player too, but I prefer to be the GM. Favorite play styles and systems are already mentioned on my tags in my bio, but I love run FATE Core or FATE Accelerated, as they let me focus on the storytelling without bogging me down in a constant cumbersome state of CharGen. I've never had a disappointed player at my table, and after nearly half a century of gaming, that's really saying something. You'll enjoy yourself too as one of my players -- that I can assure you.
