About the adventure
This game is for new and veteran players, being set in Ravenloft a gothic horror setting with a thick fog blanketing the ground, trees clawing and trying to gauge you and souls of the innocent and the damned on the line. All at the behest of one of the first vampires. Standing tall at the top of his castle, peering down at all the cattle running around as if they had any meaning. From above the heavens are empty of gods, the darkest clouds settle over Barovia's skies as a bloody moon falls behind Castle Ravenloft. A Curse of Strahd game heavy on its homebrew and rule of cool, best for players that have a love for darker themes and a willingness to delve deep into their character, this campaign will divert a lot from the book but try to keep the same feelings as the original campaign. This is a heroic campaign in its feel, meaning you are going to feel like every action you take has drastic consequences not yet known, players can expect to explore the rest of Ravenloft and influence many domains outside of just Barovia. Explore to your hearts content and be careful, for who knows what lies in wait for you inside these mists.

About me
I am a new DM, only ran it for friends. D&D is the only TTRPG I've had any real experience with but that will change with time. I adore seeing what people can come with in terms of their creativity with backstories and characters as a whole. My big inspiration to DM would be Captain Robear as his storytelling and genuine love and care for his players is something I want to hopefully emulate and bring out for the table to enjoy. I run by rule of cool and will definitely break every rule in the game for people to play the characters the way they want to.

Creating your character
Starting LVL:5 Session 0 will be talking over what role everyone will be playing, what we want to do or be, if everyone's backstories work, clarification of the rules etc. Stats can be decided through rolling or through the Heroic Array: 18, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8. But after you have created your character stats you can add +6 to one stat even if it goes over 20. All books should be viable but obviously all official WoTC books are recommended and so is Grim Hollows Player's guide or Valda's Spire of Secrets. If you have a subclass or class you want to play make sure you can access it on D&D Beyond and obviously check with me first that its okay.
There's a lot of homebrew that will be ran at the table so clarifying everything in session 0 will probably be ideal for everyone!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
First have a discord account lol you'll need to join my server. Second we will be playing on Foundry through Forge so you will need accounts for those as well.
What Krachte brings to the table
I do try to give characters voices even if im not all that good at them and often will use a voice changer to enhance the effect. I play music during combat and during downtime, often trying to find music that fits with everyone's characters so they have the spotlight on them during defining character moments. Also after most combats I have made custom loot tables for the players to loot from.
Homebrew rules
Your stats will go over 20, there isn't really a limit to stats. There's no real limits to attunement slots, running off Diablo rules. Legendary creatures have retaliatory strikes unless they are crit in which case they will lose them for those actions. Drinking a potion can be an action or a bonus action or both. Origin Feats are also much stronger. Such as the healer feat that will allow you to critically heal on 19 or 20. Roleplaying can get you advantage on attack rolls if it makes sense or is cool enough. Anyone connected to a god can use Divine Intervention but it will work very differently to the standard. Nothing is being taken away from the Cleric class. You have a minimum roll of 3 on weapons or spells you are proficient in. You can change spells or ask to have a custom spell as long as you ask me and I've given it a look over.

How Krachte creates a safe table
In session 0 I will ask everyone to give me a list of things that CANNOT be in the campaign due to fears or just troubles that could arise due to mental health. Player safety is the number 1 thing I care about aside of player enjoyment. I will go over some of the themes found in the campaign as a whole hopefully covering everything and making sure all the players are okay with it and if not what could make them more comfortable or if it just cannot be in the game. We will have bathroom breaks in between, anyone is welcome to go at any point if they need to though. After the session I will stay around for 15 minutes or so just to ease everyone, ask everyone how they enjoyed the session and what I could do better.
