About the adventure

➻ A King, A God, And Greed is an evil campaign of intrigue and conquest. Will you join the Order of the Gauntlet and climb the ranks of its clergy? Perhaps a forming Pact-house under Mammon the King of Greed? You could even try to claim parts of Rouve for yourself and command a kingdom! ➻ This campaign could take the shape of pure espionage and politics or a progressive west marches style conquest. Or a combination of the two! It takes place in a historical period of my homebrew setting, Fallorun. By joining you will become a figure of legend, and potentially shape the future of many campaigns to come. ➻ All players of Fallorun will have the ability to create their own lore to the setting, this could include entire towns, cities, and factions! We will be starting at level three, depending on your choices and characters the campaign will take shape accordingly.

About me

¤ Hey there, I'm Gabriel! I have been playing tabletop rpgs for about ten years and I have been running weekly games for close to eight. I have been a bartender off and on for many of those years. I genuinely love storytelling and getting to share big moments and feelings with people. ¤ Wondering what I'm capable of? My strengths as a Game Master are coming up with mechanically satisfying combats and encounters on the fly. I'm a prepper, though not as involved as some. I am pretty well versed on multiple systems as well as teaching/learning completely new ones, however I am extremely comfortable in D&D 5E. I usually play in person, however I have spent close to 1000 hours on roll20 and have many purchases to build cool looking encounters in it. ¤ Do you want to know more? Message me! I will get back to you promptly. Lets play some games together!

Character creation

Creating your character

➻ Character creation will take place during a free session 0 on my community discord server. We're starting at level three, however, that doesn't mean that you must have low station. ➻ If you use DnDBeyond please download the Beyond20 extension so that you can link your sheet to our Roll20, otherwise character sheets will be created in roll20. ➻ When rolling stats, we will all roll a community stat spread to share by taking turns rolling 4d6. (Then dropping the lowest number rolled) ➻This campaign takes place in a period of time before wizardry and the invention of the Lingual Arcana. Which means there are going to be a few limitations to character creation. This includes wizards, artificers, eldritch knight fighters, arcane tricksters, and knowledge domain clerics. The core of the limitation is just no arcane spellcasting or features. ➻ All other official material, that isn't a module or campaign book, is allowed. Fear not, there will be no shortage of things like esoteric spellcasting and witchcraft present in the setting.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

➻ Depending on your input we may play a worldbuilding game called The Quiet Year to flesh out a map that we will be using during the campaign. ➻ My VTT of choice is roll20 and I will use a discord server for communicating. When making a character please use roll20 or dndbeyond for your character sheet so they can be integrated into the roll20 game.

What Gabriel brings to the table

➻ I love writing character specific plothooks in my campaigns. Every player will have a chapter of the campaign featuring characters and themes from their backstory. ➻ Fallorun is an ever evolving work of fiction that has over a dozen collaborators that have added to it. By joining this campaign you will become one of the many who help me create this wonderful fantasy world. ➻ The magic system and a lot of names/themes of Fallorun are taken from Umora of Worlds Beyond Number. However, there are many changes and (currently) all of the players who have added lore to the setting aren’t familiar with Umora or WBN. If you are, and have always wanted to explore it as a player this is a great way to experience that!

Homebrew rules

➻ Session inspiration! Every player gets a use of heroic inspiration at the start of every session. In addition to ones they earn through roleplay rewards. ➻ Some minor tweaks to rules I feel are under-developed. (these rarely come up but might bring interesting mechanics come to life) ➻ Custom magic items will be given out as needed across all of my games, as will homebrew powers or boons. ➻ Any other homebrew content will need approval of myself and at least half of the other players at the table.

How Gabriel creates a safe table

➻ At the start of any campaign, I ask every player to give me their lines and veils. This lets you essentially filter out or fade to black as needed when we are in game. And allow you to exclude themes and extremes as you please. ➻ I also use an X card. At any point a player can message me privately or in one of our discord chats to pause the game or end the scene. ➻ All content warnings are potential and not guaranteed to appear in-game.
