About the adventure
This is the newest supplement from Chaosium Inc. for Call of Cthulhu! In this mini-campaign, you will play as Scouts. That's right -> You are children! Ages 11 ~ 18. The new rules for playing as children are very interesting and it's an excellent take on the Call of Cthulhu ruleset. During the first session (session 0) we will make characters together and I will explain the slight differences in this rule set (in case you have played CoC before). Character creation is very easy, so we should be able to begin the first adventure as well! We will play through the scenarios within the book. (With a little bit of homebrew thrown in for good measure!) Characters will start our Campaign at age 11 or 12 (Wanderer scout rank in this universe) and end when they are 17 ~18 years old (Warden rank in this Scout universe). Important Notes: ******************** This campaign is a series of 1-shot or 2-shot scenarios woven together over about 6 years of the scouts' lives. Because a significant amount of time passes between scenarios, we can ALWAYS have a new member join the scouts during the campaign! That means players are always welcome to join the campaign after it starts if there is an available seat. So don't be shy! ******************** ************************** I aim to have each session be about 3 hours. If we are in the middle of a scene or important point at the 3 hour mark, we will continue until that scene is complete. However, if we do reach the 4 hour mark, we will end that session right away, regardless of where we are in the scene, and pick up from that point in our next session. ************************** ************************** This is still a Call of Cthulhu game by nature. If you are careful, it is unlikely that your PC will die -> but it is still a possibility with bad rolls! Seeing as you are playing as children, if you have any issues with the possibility of children dying in a scenario, then please consider this possibility before joining! **************************

About me
Hi! Like many of you, I enjoy playing TTRPGs in my free time. Being a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, my first experience with RPGs was as a player in Call of Cthulhu. I have since expanded into other genres of TTRPGs as well. Occasionally, I do enjoy just bashing enemies and being super powerful, but most of the time I prefer when characters are more human. I enjoy the story, atmosphere, and the dread of knowing something may be around the corner that can't be dealt with using brute force alone.

Creating your character
We will created characters together during the first session. **** I will also have some pre-generated characters for players to choose from it you don't want to make a character or if you are joining after the first session. ****
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The only thing you will need is a Discord Account and a mic. Discord will be used for all the Audio (and video if you're using a webcam). Players will be expected to have their mic on during the session. Having your webcam on is preferrable, but it is NOT mandatory. If you don't want your webcam on, we will respect that. I will be running this game on Foundry VTT, but you do not need an account. I will send the link to join my game server via Discord. The link will open my Foundry game in a web browser.
What Keeper_Chris brings to the table
I will try to build the atmosphere and dread of the scenarios. When I run Call of Cthulhu, I strive for a certain level or realism in my world (even though supernatural things may happen!). I also expect my players to PLAY THE GAME. What I mean is, if the hook of the scenario is, "You are walking along a path in the woods that you have walked on many times. However, this time you notice a spooky cabin that has never been there before." I will expect you to investigate it. I expect you NOT to say, "That's scary, so I ignore it and go home and never mention it to anyone." ;) I want all my players to have fun and enjoy the story. When dealing with the Eldritch Horrors that appear in Call of Cthulhu games, PCs may die or go insane. That's OK! I will have back-up characters if that happens early. Usually if that happens, the scenario is about over anyway, so you won't need to worry.
