About the adventure

Two warring nations, the Evil nation of Mataya, located in the Underworld, and the Good nation of Jurai finally decide on peace with each other. The peace meeting is held in the royal castle in Jurai and all are invited. The peace talk is going well until calamity strikes! A third party; one who declares to be creating a new world order, crashes the party, sowing chaos throughout the castle. Overthrowing both nations simultaneously, they declare their new world order in effect and to be upheld by their 5 Emperors of Chaos. The party, choosing to side with either Mataya or Jurai, will venture across the land hunting down the Emperors of Chaos and restore order to a world drowned in chaos. This campaign is a mix of heavy combat and roleplay. Sessions will switch from dungeon crawling combat sessions to lighter roleplay sessions to rest. Open to all skill levels. The combat sessions while designed to play to strengths and weaknesses of party members, are never designed to be brutal or unfair. Difficulty will be adjusted to match player ability.

About me

I've been a GM for 6+ years with an ongoing homebrew campaign running since day one. As such, I have a lot of experience with homebrew monsters, classes and mechanics. I've also been a player in a handful of campaigns, so I've seen both sides of the coin. I'm mostly familiar with DnD 5e (2014 version), but I've dabbled with a couple of other systems as well (but only as a player): Ryuutama, Vampire: The Masquerade and Genso Narratograph. I don't have experience running these systems but do have experience playing them, so I could feasibly run them as well. I've GM'd for a variety of group sizes, but typically am most comfortable with the 3-5 player range.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation should happen before the first session, and will be done on Roll 20. Characters will start at 1st level. Because this campaign is open to all skill levels, the GM will be helping all players set up their character sheets. All content is allowed, including optional and UA content, but the spell Silvery Barbs is not allowed. UA content must be approved by the GM before it can be used. Other homebrew content may be permitted, but must be approved by the WHOLE table. The GM likes to keep players on the stronger side, since it opens up character flexibility. As such, stats are determined as follows: 1. Roll 4d6, reroll any 1s, keep the highest 3. Do this six times. 2. You may choose to reroll one of your results following the same rule as before, but must keep the new result. 3. Assign the results as you like.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have Discord and Roll20 accounts. They will need to join a Roll20 game and Discord server.

What Yeelp brings to the table

I utilize a music bot in Discord for combat and or background music. Players are free to mute the bot. Combat is designed to play to character strengths and/or weaknesses. It is never intended to be unfair or cruel. It may intend to challenge the party, but never intend to kill the party.

Homebrew rules

- Potions can be drunk as a bonus action (giving a potion to someone else is still an action) - Downed characters to not count as Prone.

Safety

How Yeelp creates a safe table

Session 0 will cover the sensitive topics that will come up, the sensitive topics that might come up and discuss hard lines players have for content and how we will handle it. Aftercare discussion will be held after session (but is not a requirement). Session 0 is also where I will outline the purpose of the camapaign, which is to have fun! If you're not having fun, there's something wrong and we should talk about how to resolve those issues. My DM's will be open to all players who wish to talk about anything and aim to be as approachable as possible.
