About the adventure
Darkon has been abandoned by its ruler, the wizard-king Azalin Rex. In a strange flash of brilliant light and the detonation of Castle Avernus, Azalin Rex vanished, never to be seen again. The only remnant of his demise was the distant glow of a new star that has taken the sky: the King's Tear. Many conspiracies have been written about what had happened on that fateful day, but all call that strange event by one terrifying name - The Hour of Ascension. To what ends, no one knows. Without its dark lord, Darkon is in chaos. Anyone with a shred of power is looking for answers to either resurrect the Azalin or take up the mantle of Lord of Darkon themselves. Meanwhile, the people of Darkon are left to suffer the tyrannical rule of their realms. Whether it is dealing with the secret police of the Jagged Coast or the mad nobles of Il Aluk, those who live in Darkon are subjected to eternal strife. Not only that - the mists that once surrounded the outskirts of Darkon are closing, near sectioning off entire regions from one another. Those who attempt to leave through the mists all go missing, only smiling to those who watch from afar in the same strange way. In this time of chaos, who will weather the storm and lead the people to a new future? Explore the dark realms of Darkon, making allies and facing off against the macabre leaders of Il Aluk, Martira Bay, and Castle Avernus itself. Discover what happened to Lord Azalin, then answer the pivotal question: will you free Darkon from the mists, allowing those within to roam the realms free? Or will you ascend the throne yourself and rule a new dark age?

Creating your character
Stats will be determined with a 4d6 system - roll four dice, forget about the lowest one, then add up the highest three. Characters can be prepared ahead of time or we can use some time during the session zero to chat about character ideas and team dynamic.

What Tyson brings to the table
As a voice actor and theatre performer, I have numerous voices and characters to throw at you. I blend the serious with the humorous so that player characters will have a blend of hilarity and terror during their experience. I will be providing players with links for a Discord server for everyone to join as well as a link for encounter maps through Owlbear Rodeo.
