About the adventure
Night City is a proverbial bucket of crabs, except the crabs have cyber-claws, pent up trauma, and bad attitudes. An earthquake, a series of wars fueled by corporate greed, and the fact the world has been going through it for the last 100 years or so have left Night City in one hell of a state. Infrastructure is battered and broken, the center of the city is a radioactive no-go zone, social order is in disarray, and those with power want to use all the above to their advantage no matter how many people it hurts. And like it or not, you live here. So what are you going to do about it, punk? In this Campaign the players will create Edgerunners and work together with the other players as some kind of crew that will be find some way to survive, and maybe eventually even thrive, in Night City. Expect a very open-ended sandbox style campaign where the players' interests fuel the "on screen" action! Due to the freedom granted to players in this Campaign it is difficult to say exactly what kind of stories we'll be pursuing in Night City, but I will nudge the group toward a roleplay-heavy game where we really embrace our characters as real people with real relationships within Night City and combat is rare and deadly. New players & old are welcome! I have run this game for people who were totally new to TTRPGs as a whole and they are now avid fans of the hobby.

About me
Since I was a child I've had a passion for adventure and heroic, dramatic lives. When I was a young teen I explored this passion in the dank basements of my close friends where we would have 36 hour TTRPG marathons of dungeon diving and monster slaying. I also pursued living out the epic lives of others on the stage, where I won awards as a competitive actor in the New England One Act Competitions and local Improvisational Acting competitions. After my school years I set out to cut my teeth and gain experience with a life of real world adventure. I've lived in several foreign countries across the globe and become intimately familiar with cultures profoundly different from my own. I've competed in Mixed Martial Arts competitions and worked as a Teacher, Fine Dining Waiter, SCUBA Instructor, Underwater Cave Dive Guide, and more. In the last few years I've returned obsessively to one of my oldest passions, TTRPG; but now I can bring all of my experience from years of being an adventurer and leader into the fold. I bring an easygoing and fun loving attitude that seeks to make others comfortable to manifest the characters they wish to portray into a shared story/simulation with like minded individuals. I bring organizational skills that allow The Table to stay in the action for the duration of a session. I take pride in my ability to craft and run games and sessions that are tailor-fit to a playstyle befitting the Players at The Table, and leave My Tables thoroughly entertained and fulfilled!

Creating your character
Session 0 and 1 each will be half price each to effectively provide a "free" session 0. I prefer to collect some money for session 0 otherwise, in my experience, there are a lot of window shoppers and players can become frustrated because they've had multiple session 0s with no game. Your Edgerunners will officially be created/finalized as a group during Session 0 so that we may all be on the same page as far as setting, backstory, motivation, etc. You are more than welcome to correspond with me privately before the game to have a gameplan for your character going into session 0 though! Everyone will then decide together what kind of crew they are from the many possibilities within the fiction of night city. Some examples are a band, corporate fixers, gangsters, pub managers. The options are pretty endless! All of the Cyberpunk RED Core rulebook and anything from the official DLCs is available. Do note there is some stuff that has been recently released, such as the Edgerunner's Kit, that is not for Cyberpunk RED which takes place in 2045, but a more futuristic setting. If you are searching the internet for ideas be wary you aren't getting results from this material. The Core Rulebook lays out a few different methods of character creation, and all of them are available for this game. *Editor's Note* My personal favorite way to play Cyberpunk:RED is to randomly roll everything for my character and then explore this generated character emergently from base principles in the game. I know this playstyle isn't the most popular in modern gaming as most people enjoy carefully crafting their character, but if you're feeling brave give this a try!

Preparing for the session
Required: - Join my Discord and send me a message (https://discord.gg/eRgqkfthuC) - A device capable of accessing a website via browser - Microphone with at least intelligible quality Recommended: - Laptop/PC - FoundryVTT doesn't technically support touchscreen/android devices. It also can be somewhat laggy and frustrating to use on low performance machines. If you only have a low performance or touchscreen device it is still possible to play, but don't expect to be able to fully utilize many of the awesome features of FoundryVTT
What TheAdventurousGM brings to the table
Most importantly I bring a fun loving attitude and skills to keep the game moving and ensure everyone will get their time in the spotlight. A full and fleshed out Night City for players and their characters to explore and dig up all sorts of fun, danger, and drama. Fully tooled Foundry VTT instance that will make tracking your progress and seeing dice results easy giving us more mental bandwidth for collaborative storytelling! Foundry also offers fantastic tools for sensory aids to help guide our imaginations through dramatic scenes and stories. I'll provide an option soundtrack via a Discord Bot, but if you find BGM distracting or prefer your own tunes you are welcome to mute the bot.

How TheAdventurousGM creates a safe table
Lines & Veils will be briefly discussed at the beginning of the first session and I will type up a quick shared doc while we do so. XNO Cards will be handled with a Foundry module to make things as easy as possible, although if you were to reach out to me another way instead of course I will respect any way you tell me you are uncomfortable with the direction the game is going. Most of the content warnings above can be worked around for this adventure, so if you are interested in playing but one of the content warnings is concerning you definitely reach out and we'll have a discussion!
