About the adventure

A stolen ledger filled with dangerous secrets is about to be sold to the highest bidder. Recover it before it vanishes into the hands of Sharn’s most ruthless power brokers. What’s written inside could upend more than reputations, it could spark chaos in the city, and echo across Khorvaire. Two rival factions in the city’s underworld are already at war over the prize, and whispers of a secret auction spread through Sharn’s towers like smoke. To find the truth, the adventurers must navigate a maze of shifting alliances, false faces, and dangerous bargains. Trust No One is a sequel to Curtain Call, once again plunging the party into the intrigue and peril of Sharn’s underworld, where every favor promises more than what you bargained for. *Note you DO NOT NEED to have played Curtain Call to enjoy this one-shot! Optional Hooks: 1. Max Private Inquisitive: After the events of Curtain Call, the Max Murlock calls on you to solve a case. Of course, as his junior inquisitive. This time, he intends to suit up. 2. A Noble Cause: Drevan ir'Roole hires you to find his ex-wife Nora ir'Roole, she stole something very important. Word is, she has become mixed up with more than just the Cult of the Dragon below. 3. The Interview: Dalia Dorian Korran from the Korranberg wants to interview you about your escapades. Something to delight her readers, a true hero, she wants her next big scoop.

About me

Hi, my name is Vin. I run both online and offline tables. Locally, I host a one-shot table at a game store for various adventures set in the Forgotten Realms, and more recently Eberron. Online, I host long-term campaigns for friends, coworkers and strangers alike. I am used to creating long narratives with big emotional or storytelling payoff and on the spot improv based on the dice roll. If you want to know more about me! Read further down below. I’ve been running D&D 5e for almost three years, but my first taste of the game was over 20 years ago. One hot summer, I sat with friends in an abandoned swimming pool role-playing heroes and villains without really knowing the rules. It ended with a giant boulder trap wiping us out, and for some reason we never played again. Years later my wife reintroduced me to D&D, and I fell back in love with the imagination and collaboration it sparks. Somewhere along the way I picked up the DM’s chair, and I haven’t looked back. Outside of the game, I’m into horror movies, sci-fi, anime, and fantasy of all kinds. My wife and I are working through Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive, though my all-time favorite series will always be Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time.

Safety

How Vin creates a safe table

I run games with open storytelling, but there are clear boundaries: 1. Lines (these will not appear in the game): - Sexual content, sexual violence, or heavy sexual innuendo - Real-world racism, sexism, misogyny, or anti-LGBTQ+ 2. Veils (may exist, but never in detail): - Torture or extreme violence (cartoonish violence is fine) - Intense gore or body horror 3. Open Door Policy: - Players can step away from the game at any time, for any reason, without explanation. 4. We’ll also use X, N, and O cards so players can check in or stop the action if something feels uncomfortable. You can say it privately in chat, or openly. The goal is to keep the table safe, fun, and welcoming for everyone.
