About the adventure
The Gilead System is cut off, overworked, underfed, and full of secrets no sane servant of the Emperor should ever seek. In Litanies of the Lost, you are Imperial Agents sent into the dark corners of the system to recover relics, investigate disappearances, survive machine haunted facilities, and learn which truths are worth killing for, dying for, or burying before anyone else. This campaign is a grimdark investigative action series using Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory. Expect tense mysteries, faction pressure, tactical combat, moral compromise, and the constant feeling that every authority figure is hiding something. Missions may include retrieving a stolen stasis coffin before the Inquisition notices, answering a distress signal from a silent monastery where something has gone terribly wrong, investigating disappearances in an agri-settlement, and surviving a locked down manufactorum controlled by a malignant machine intelligence. This game is for players who enjoy Warhammer 40K atmosphere, dangerous investigations, hard choices, and cinematic violence. New Wrath & Glory players are welcome. I will teach the rules as we play, keep the table moving, and make sure your character has clear hooks into the mission. The tone is grim, tense, and pulpy. You are not powerless, but you are never safe. In the 41st Millennium, survival is not victory. It is the first line of the after action report.

About me
In the modern world of relentless monotony, you might be looking for a Burt!. Not quite an NPC and not quite a PC, but something in between. I’m here to serve as your Boredom Tech Support©, turning a few hours at the table into something immersive, engaging, and memorable. I’ve been running tabletop RPGs for over two decades, building worlds, guiding stories, and helping players step into characters that matter. I focus on games where choices have weight, scenes move with purpose, and the world responds to what you do rather than forcing you down a script. Sometimes that means intense narrative play, sometimes it means open exploration, and sometimes it just means having a damn good time rolling dice with friends. I run everything from classic D&D to Pathfinder to Warhammer 40k Wrath & Glory, and I tailor each game to the group at the table. Whether you’re here for deep roleplay, tactical combat, or a balanced mix of both, my goal is to make sure the session feels complete, coherent, and worth your time. My table is inclusive and welcoming, with a firm expectation of mutual respect. Everyone deserves a space where they can enjoy the shared act of imagination without nonsense getting in the way. In character, things can get strange, dangerous, or intense. Out of character, the table stays calm, friendly, and drama free. When the call to adventure sounds, I’m ready to guide the way. Let the dice roll, the pages turn, and the story unfold. “Knowing where the trap is; that’s the first step in evading it.” Frank Herbert, Dune Maybe, I mess with them for the fun of it. Maybe I don’t. Burt!, the other day No nasty R’s. Rude, racist, or repugnant behavior will not be tolerated at the table.

Creating your character
Characters will be created before Session 1 with GM support. We will use Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory, starting at Tier 1, then advancing into Tier 2 during the campaign so players can grow from capable operatives into more dangerous agents of the Imperium. Players should create characters who can plausibly work as Imperial agents, mercenaries, specialists, investigators, or deniable operatives. Strong fits include Adeptus Mechanicus agents, Astra Militarum veterans, sanctioned troubleshooters, scum with useful contacts, Ministorum faithful, or other Imperial-aligned characters. Character creation will include: -A clear reason your character accepts dangerous Imperial work -A connection to at least one faction, patron, or duty -A practical role in the team, such as investigation, social pressure, combat, tech, stealth, faith, or command No deep Warhammer lore knowledge is required. Bring a character willing to follow the mission, argue in-character, and cooperate out-of-character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before the first session, players should: -Create a free Discord account -Have a working microphone -Use a computer capable of running Foundry VTT in a browser -Join the Discord server and Foundry table links provided after booking -Review the basic premise and character expectations -Complete the safety checklist before Session 0 or the first session Ask questions early if you are new to Wrath & Glory or Warhammer 40K
What Burt! brings to the table
I provide a prepared, professional Wrath & Glory experience using Foundry VTT, with maps, tokens, handouts, and mission briefings ready to go. New players are welcome, and I will teach the rules as we play without turning the session into a lecture. At the table, I aim for fast, clear rulings, tactical combat with meaningful stakes, and investigations that reward smart play instead of pixel hunting for the one correct clue. Player choices matter, factions remember what you did, and characters should get moments where their skills, loyalties, and questionable judgment all matter. My GM style is cinematic, practical, and player-facing. I like dangerous choices, visible consequences, and scenes where players can solve problems through violence, leverage, faith, blackmail, technical expertise, or terrible judgment delivered with confidence.
Homebrew rules
Rules will mostly follow Wrath & Glory as written, with light table procedures for pacing and clarity. Table expectations: -Rules questions are welcome, but we keep play moving -Cinematic ideas are encouraged when they fit the fiction -PvP requires clear player consent and GM approval -Grimdark tone does not excuse hostile table behavior -Character secrets are fine, but party sabotage is not -We use safety tools seriously and without debate

Safety
How Burt! creates a safe table
This is Warhammer 40K, so the setting includes violence, horror, religious extremism, oppressive institutions, body horror, corruption, and bleak moral choices. We will handle those themes as fiction, not as permission to make the table unsafe.
