About the adventure
Something is waking beneath Phandalin. The frontier town sits on the edge of old scars and older secrets. Trade caravans vanish on the roads. Miners whisper about strange sounds echoing from the hills at night. Goblins have grown bolder. Ancient ruins buried beneath the Sword Coast are beginning to stir, and whatever was lost in the depths of Wave Echo Cave was never truly meant to be found again. This campaign begins with *Lost Mine of Phandelver*, reimagined as a character driven, cinematic adventure full of danger, mystery, and escalating horror. Whether you are brand new to Dungeons and Dragons or a longtime player looking for a fresh take on a classic story, this game is designed to pull you deep into the world and make you feel like part of it from session one. New players will find a welcoming environment focused on learning through play, strong storytelling, and memorable character moments rather than rules memorization. Veteran players can expect expanded roleplay, more dangerous encounters, interconnected character arcs, reactive NPCs, and a living world that changes based on the party’s choices. This is not a railroad through a starter module. The region around Phandalin is a sandbox filled with hidden threats, evolving factions, ancient history, and consequences that ripple outward from everything the players choose to do. Expect desperate battles in torchlit caverns, tense negotiations with dangerous people, ruined strongholds swallowed by the wilderness, forgotten magic, and moments where the line between fantasy adventure and horror begins to blur. The tone starts as classic frontier fantasy and gradually descends into something stranger, darker, and far more cosmic in scope. Because the truth is that the Lost Mine is only the beginning. As the campaign progresses, the story is intended to transition naturally into the newer Phandelver material and its growing cosmic horror elements, allowing the adventure to evolve from a grounded fantasy expedition into a much larger confrontation with forces buried deep beneath reality itself. What begins as a search for lost treasure may eventually become a fight to stop something ancient from breaking its way into the world. My tables focus heavily on immersion, player agency, roleplay, and collaborative storytelling. I want players who are excited to invest in their characters, engage with the world, build relationships within the party, and help create unforgettable moments together. Serious drama, terrifying horror, ridiculous table laughter, heroic victories, catastrophic failures, and emotional damage all have a place here. Phandalin is waiting. And beneath it, something is dreaming.

About me
As a lifelong tabletop RPG player and veteran Game Master, I have spent years refining not just my storytelling, but the entire atmosphere surrounding it. My Foundry VTT table is the result of thousands of hours of development, iteration, and obsessive attention to detail, built to deliver a deeply immersive online roleplaying experience that rivals and often surpasses what is possible at a physical table. Every environment is carefully constructed using high resolution animated maps, dynamic lighting, layered ambient soundscapes, curated musical scoring, environmental effects, and a wide suite of custom systems and automations designed to make the world feel alive. The goal is never simply to run combat encounters or move tokens across a screen. The goal is immersion. I want players to feel like they are stepping into a living world that reacts to them, remembers them, and pulls them deeper into the story every session. Over the years, I have developed an extensively customized Foundry setup featuring streamlined automation and quality of life systems that allow the game to flow naturally without sacrificing depth or complexity. Functional looting, harvesting, crafting, merchant systems, interactive journals, cinematic scene transitions, advanced quest tracking, visual effects, dynamic weather, and fully integrated character features all work together to create a polished and highly responsive tabletop experience. More importantly, all of that technology exists in service of the roleplay. My games are character driven, atmospheric, emotionally grounded, and heavily focused on player agency. I believe the best tabletop experiences happen when strong storytelling, meaningful choices, and immersive presentation all reinforce one another. This is not a barebones online game held together by dice rollers and Discord webcams. This is a fully realized virtual tabletop experience built by someone who genuinely loves the craft.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Characters will begin at level 1 and will be created through D&D Beyond. Players invited to the campaign will have access to my full library of sourcebooks and character creation content. Ability scores will be rolled together during Session Zero. If you are unhappy with your rolls, or simply prefer a more consistent approach, you are welcome to use the standard 27 point buy system instead. Please create characters that feel grounded within the Forgotten Realms setting and are capable of engaging seriously with the world, story, and tone of the campaign. Strong character motivations, personal goals, flaws, relationships, and reasons to adventure are highly encouraged.

What Squizard The GM brings to the table
What I provide as a Game Master goes well beyond simply running sessions each week. I put a tremendous amount of time and care into building an immersive, polished, and highly interactive experience that makes the world feel alive and memorable from the moment you sit down at the table. Players in my games can expect: • A fully hosted and extensively customized Foundry VTT experience through The Forge • Access to my complete D&D Beyond content library for character creation and leveling • Digital character portrait cards, custom tokens, and visual character integration throughout the campaign • High resolution maps with dynamic lighting, environmental effects, animated elements, and immersive scene design • Curated music, ambient soundscapes, and atmospheric audio tailored to each location and encounter • Cinematic scene presentation and immersive visual storytelling • Robust quest tracking, journals, merchant systems, looting systems, crafting integration, and quality of life automation • Well organized Session Zero onboarding and support for both new and experienced players • Detailed session preparation, campaign continuity tracking, and post session recap notes • A dedicated campaign Discord server for scheduling, roleplay, lore, handouts, memes, and out of game discussion • Strong narrative focus and character driven storytelling with meaningful player agency • Reactive NPCs, evolving faction dynamics, and worlds that change based on player choices and consequences • Challenging encounters that reward creativity, teamwork, and smart decision making rather than pure optimization alone • A table atmosphere that balances comedy, tension, horror, drama, and absolute chaos in equal measure As a GM, I lean heavily into immersion, roleplay, atmosphere, and cinematic pacing. I use character voices often, though never at the expense of clarity or flow, and I encourage players to engage with roleplay at whatever level they are comfortable with. My games tend to feature emotionally charged storytelling, strong interpersonal dynamics, memorable NPCs, and moments of both devastating seriousness and complete absurdity. I value the rules because structure creates meaningful stakes, but I am also a strong believer in rewarding creativity and commitment. If a player comes up with something clever, dramatic, hilarious, or genuinely inspired that fits the moment and the world, I will almost always try to find a way to make it work. The goal is not to “beat” the players. The goal is to create unforgettable stories together. Combat in my games can be dangerous and tactical, especially in horror oriented campaigns, but encounters are rarely just static slugfests. I try to make battles feel cinematic, desperate, reactive, and emotionally tied to the story surrounding them. Most importantly, I provide enthusiasm. I genuinely love this hobby, I love collaborative storytelling, and I love building worlds that players can disappear into for a few hours every wee
