About the adventure

In the world of the Stormlight Archive, the nation of Alethkar fight the ancient race of Listeners on the Shattered Plains. Fight for your people, learn the truth of the conflict and discover the lost powers of the Knights Radiant, that are beginning to return as a greater evil awakens on the planet. You'll play high ranking officers and nobility in the nation, able to affect the political landscape and change the hearts and minds of those around you as secrets are uncovered about the lies you've all been told... This campaign is set on the world of Roshar from Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series and uses the Cosmere RPG system, but don't worry, you don't have to know anything about this world or this system to play! I want this campaign to be open to fans and newcomers alike, in a rich world with tons to explore! Your spren companions can't wait to meet you ;) If you want to let out your inner demon, become a soldier of the Tranquiline Halls and let's get smashing! Or, if you're looking to plot and scheme with the other highprinces and play their complicated game of Towers, bring it on!

About me

Welcome Adventurers, one and all! My name is Connor, I've been running games in the TTRPG space for 5 years now, creating epic, story-driven campaigns tailored to give my players a story that centres around and champions them! I'm an actor and writer, so my skills there lean heavily in to my GM style - you'll get wacky voices, crazy sound effects and detailed plots. I love collaboration, making sure the game is fulfilling your needs, making sure everyone at the table is comfortable as we craft these stories together! So let's jump in! There's always a seat at the table waiting for you.

Character creation

Creating your character

Please create a character sheet on your preferred system and share that with me before the session if you have access to the Cosmere RPG rulebooks, if not, I can help you create something using the 6 character paths and the Radiant Orders. Also happy to homebrew stuff as many of the other Cosmere settings don't exist yet.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A webcam and mic would be preferable for sessions, but not essential! As long as I can hear you speak on Discord, you don't need your camera on if you don't want to. Having Roll20 downloaded will also be super handy, so I can add you to the campaign there to keep track of character sheets etc. Also please have Discord downloaded, so I can add you to the group. The only thing I do require is respect for everyone else at the table. I won't tolerate bullying, anti-social behaviour or bigotry. We're all here for a good time, experiencing the fun of roleplay with friends, and anyone who tries to break that will be removed. But other than that, just bring the vibes! And all the shenanigans and crazy stuff you want to do ;)

What Connor Duvenage brings to the table

I bring my skills as an actor and martial artist to the table. I'll be doing monster noises, sounds of combat and making sense of all of the hits and dodges. I love having ambient music during sessions (though I'm not the best DJ for mixing!!). Massive Rule of Cool believer, as it's a homebrew campaign, the rules for me are a loose guide, and we'll do what the players and I want. Combat will be as light or intense as players are comfortable with, but I'll always be adding unique twists or environment to interact with to keep you on your toes! I have an insane amount of miniatures, and some landscape set pieces that we'll be using through the Discord call so you can also make sense of the battlespace!

Homebrew rules

I'm a big believer in narrative over rules, and the Cosmere RPG system really champions that. Even so, I may not be as tight on the rules if I don't think it serves our story best

Safety

How Connor Duvenage creates a safe table

All of the content warnings are just things I expect to be in the game, but I can be as detailed or as vague with the violence as players are comfortable with. We'll go over everything beforehand in a session 0, but I'll also be checking in through direct messages to ensure everything is going how you're comfortable with!
