About the adventure

Dungeons of Drakkenheim is one of the newest D&D campaigns and one of the best of all time. With ingenuity, hard work, and luck you and your companions might just survive and find what you're searching for! A meteor destroyed the city and left eldritch magical shards strewn everywhere. Abominations, horrors, riches, mysteries, and rivalries abound. Join together with a party of adventurers, each driven to explore the city for personal reasons. You'll run missions into the city while avoiding contamination and madness. You'll battle mutated creatures and eldritch abominations while negotiating the rivalries of five factions, each intent on controlling the ruins. In the end your party will create its own story- for no one venturing into Drakkenheim ever meets the same fate, and few live to tell a tale of glory. This campaign includes the original 'Dungeons of Drakkenheim' campaign plus additional material from 'Monsters of Drakkenheim' and 'In Search of the Smuggler's Secrets'. Check out the official campaign trailer to see what the campaign is all about: https://youtu.be/7wnGvCvIkq8?si=46Z1cEdT0c-NCFaS Everyone is welcome- experience the mystery, horror, combat & fun!

About me

I've been a Dungeons & Dragons DM since 2016 and recently became a GM on StartPlaying (2026). I love collaboratively creating a great story with players and I also enjoy teaching first time D&D players. There's always role playing and combat in every session I run, and my number one rule is "Let's have fun!". I particularly like to run Dark Fantasy, Grimdark, and Eldritch & Cosmic Horror campaigns. My sessions are an inclusive safe space and a hate-free zone.

Character creation

Creating your character

The first session (Session 0) is free. We'll discuss and create your Level 1 character on D&D Beyond. We’ll also discuss the campaign setting, gaming style, and preferences about the game. It's an open discussion, so feel free to discuss anything game related and ask any questions that you want. After that, if there's enough time left we'll begin the adventure using D&D Beyond Maps VTT!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Prior to the first session, you'll need a Discord account (free) which we’ll use for voice chats during the sessions. Once you have signed up for the adventure I will send you a link to the Discord channel for the game. You will also need a D&D Beyond account (free). Once you have signed up for the adventure I will also send you a link to the campaign on D&D Beyond Maps where you can create a character and we'll play the sessions.

What Teller of Tales brings to the table

I enjoy creating a fun and intriguing setting and narrative as well as memorable NPCs. There's typically role playing and combat in each session. I also like players to have agency and choice throughout the adventure. I use the D&D 5.5e (2024) official rules, but Drakkenheim has a few unique mechanics that we'll discuss in Session 0. No matter what, the number one rule is "Let's have fun!”

How Teller of Tales creates a safe table

Please be aware that this campaign is Dark Fantasy/Grimdark/Horror and contains characters and situations that are horror tropes. In Session 0 we will discuss the general content more in depth. We’ll also discuss your preferences about the content, use of Lines and Veils, putting up an X-Card, and other ways to ensure that you are comfortable with the content of the adventure. You should always feel comfortable and able to bring up any concerns about session content at any time should the need arise.
