About the adventure

HAVE YOU SEEN THE YELLOW SIGN? - PLAYING WEEKLY! New York City, 1995. The Agents have been assigned to look into the case of Abigail Wright, an artist who mysteriously disappeared from her apartment. What begins as a garden-variety missing persons investigation soon becomes anything but, as the King In Yellow warps reality itself around the Agents to draw them ever-deeper into his web. Can you solve the mystery of what happened to Abigail before you are trapped forever in the clutch of the King? Impossible Landscapes is a surreal horror game that will leave the Agents questioning their reality and their place in it. The game starts as a police procedural, but soon slides into a fight for survival. Get ready for twists and turns, violence and horror, madness and death, and, above it all, the King In Yellow...

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create our characters together during our first session. We'll be using standard Delta Green creation rules, which I will walk you through as we play.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using Discord for our voice chat. Please make sure you have an account all set up, and that you have a good internet connection to make conversation easy. We will be meeting using Foundry, which does not require a login.

What brokenimage321 brings to the table

As a player in my game, you can expect a lot of preparation on my end: high-quality maps, nifty sound effects, and lots of bells and whistles, visual and otherwise. I'm very proud of my Foundry setup, and I'm always tinkering with it to make it more interesting. I also love to surprise my players. Impossible Landscapes has a lot of surprises already, but even so, you can still expect that most sessions will have something fun and exciting planned. You can also expect a welcoming environment. I do my best to make my games as simple and easy to participate in as possible, and to do everything I can to accommodate my players. I want to make sure everyone I play with is comfortable, and able to be who they want to be without having to worry about critique or judgment. Accordingly, my table is LGBTQIA+ friendly, and welcomes diversity. Bad behavior will not be tolerated. As part of my desire for comfort, I like to have flashy effects and ambient music going at all times, but, if these prove distracting or uncomfortable to you, let me know and we'll work it out.

Safety

How brokenimage321 creates a safe table

We will begin with the Monte Cook RPG Consent checklist. If there's something that we need to discuss, I will do so privately before the game starts. We will also have a "Session 0," during which, in addition to creating characters and teaching the rules, we will discuss and set our standards for content and safety. During the session, we will make use of the "X-Card," and, afterwards, we will use a feedback method like "Thorns and Roses" to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. If you have a problem at any time, please feel free to message me, and I will take care of it as soon as practical.
