About the adventure

Among all of the Citadel Forces yours is probably the most underappreciated. Patrols venturing into the Attican Traverse and beyond, into Terminus kept seemingly mostly as a formality. Outside of the occasional large scale programs expanding Councils reach, the further outposts all too often stay underfunded and nearly forgotten in the gleaming chambers of the Council. And yet you know it is a necessary service, chartering the unknown, looking for any unknown threats and possibilities. Bringing any recourse where might makes right tends to be the prevailing law. Doing your duty even when ships disappear from time to time and support hinges on bare bone logistics coming from the other side of the galaxy. Depending on your crew, bravery and creativity. You are the Officers of SSV Castellan serving under Council Fleet, External Systems Division. Campaign takes place in 2177, 5 years before Commander Shepard became a Specter. Getting players into well established reality of Mass Effect before Reapers overtake all of the interesting dangers and priorities of this world.

About me

My own Platinum Rule for RPGs is simple offer and assume respect, as well as good will. We all want to experience something breaking out of the mundane, at least for a bit. Entertain and be entertained by weaving a story together, play the game together. My main enjoyment comes from others being engrossed in the session, or at least having fun with it. Allowing myself a little honesty, RPGs are a huge part of my life, took me from being an extremely shy kid to someone who can easily give lectures to a full auditorium. As silly, as that sounds, feeling like I truly pilot spaceships, confront gods, stalk dark alleys of great cities, protect the multiverse from villainy, and more throughout my life. I want more people to enjoy this hobby, so I never took money for running games before, sometimes putting more time and effort into them than normal work. But as life goes on, duties grow and times get harder. I want to see if maybe I can integrate my adult life and passion better. Sneak a bit more of the hobby into the day. Character creation

Creating your character

Will go over it on session 0, but generally using Adventure Edition of Savage Worlds, along with Sci-Fi Companion, with some expanded options for he world.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A willing spirit and an open mind should suffice, but it would be nice to have some initial ideas for your Officer. Session 0 will be free.

What Driden brings to the table

Fully utilizing SW adventure spirit with some tactical bend to confrontation and suprises hiding in among unmapped star systems. I add mechanics for the system to fit general rules to the specific world. Still keeping the heart of protecting real feeling civilians trying to forge their life on the frontier. While dealing with all kinds of colorful vagabonds, mob bosses and explorers. Paragons, renegades and straight up bastards.

Homebrew rules

I expand on the rules, but don't plan specifically drastic changes.

Safety

How Driden creates a safe table

There is a lot hopefulness in Space Opera and Mass Effect, even knowing what is coming ahead. But I do prefer mature storytelling where harsher facets of life can appear. I would like to reach players excited to face them toghether. Respectful to them, with open communication if need be.
