About the adventure
With the death of the god Aroden over a century ago, a great wound tore open in the north of the continent of Avistan on the world of Golarion. This is the Worldwound, a series of interconnected portals to the Outer Rifts of the Abyss, the chaotic and nightmarish realm that twists and turns its way along the edges of reality. From these portals poured fourth a seemingly unending horde of demons, creature of chaos and evil who seek to destroy, to kill, and to drag mortal souls screaming with them back into the Abyss. Led by Galfrey, a former knight of Aroden, mortal champions from across the world rallied to fight off this invasion, and it is by their efforts that the abyssal armies have been thrown back time and time again. Across a more than century and four Crusades however, final victory has slipped from their grasp. Riven by internal divisions and ambitions, and lacking true knowledge on the reasons behind the genesis of the Worldwound and its very nature, the champions of good have been stymied in their efforts to nail shut the doors to the abyss. In the city of Kenabres near the Worldwound, scholars, soldiers, and travelers of all stripes have begun to gather for the annual Armasse festival. Among the jousts, historical reenactments, and revelry rumors have begun to circulate that Galfrey will call for a Fifth and final Crusade to end the demon threat once and for all. --- Wrath of the Righteous is a story about the struggle of good vs. evil - not the evil of mortals where we find each villain has their own motivations, goals, and reasoning, but the evil of the Abyss - demonic, supernatural, irredeemable, and unfaltering. How does one respond to an evil that does not seek to win others over to its side, does not hold land, does not want power in the traditional sense, and looks only to destroy and kill for its own sake? It is also a story about atoning for the mistakes of the past. The past four crusades, those that led them (many of who continue to do so), and even the gods that sponsor them have only managed to contain the abyssal threat - and that just barely - but have failed utterly to inflict lasting damage on the demonic forces. How will you learn from the mistakes of those who have come before you and and bring the Fifth Crusade to victory? --- This version of the campaign will adhere strongly to the traditional structure of the adventure path, with some minor changes to characters and the narrative. Fans of the CRPG version take note: what you will experience here will be quite different than what you have enjoyed on your computer - you will see many faces and names you recognize, but the experience here will be quite different. At the players' option we will also make full use of the Pathfinder mass combat rules to allow the party to take command the armies of the Fifth Crusade and lead them to victory.

About me
I got a copy of the original D&D Rules Cyclopedia for my 12th birthday and I've been hooked ever since. In the more than 30 years between now and then I've run and played in hundreds of games across dozens of systems, and loved them all. At heart I am a storyteller and believe than any good story should be told together. I am very excited to finally bring my decades of experience to the virtual table top environment. Having played in multiple campaigns over the past few years I've been very excited to see how technology has had such a huge and positive impact on the world of gaming. In addition to my TTRPG chops I also bring years of professional technology experience to the table and aim to create a fully immersive environment for everyone to enjoy.

Creating your character
You can create your character prior to the start of the campaign if you choose to do - I will add you to the Roll20 campaign and create a character sheet for you when you sign up. We will be working through character creation as a group during Session 0 as well. I am available for consultation at any time via Discord to help you with any character or setting questions whatsoever, and will happily make time to meet with you prior to session 0 to help you build your character directly. The player's guide specific to this campaign contains specific options for character creations including character backgrounds and custom traits. It is highly recommended that all players review the guide prior to Session 0. You will need to select at least one of the campaign traits in the guide for your character. Official Campaign Player's Guide: https://downloads.paizo.com/WrathOfTheRighteous_PlayersGuide.pdf You can use the 25 point buy method for your character's stats. Here's a handy tool to help with this: https://pittsburghpfs.com/resources/point-buy-calculator/ Any Pazio character options from the Pathfinder System Resource Document are valid. Please check with me before using any content from 3rd party publishers. https://www.d20pfsrd.com/
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have a Discord, a Zoom, and a Roll20 account prior to Session 0. Friendly reminder that these are all free to use software, so don't believe anyone who tries to charge you for them.
What Nicky Perfect brings to the table
I'll set up a dedicated Discord server for the campaign as soon as two players join, and will provide an invite to the Roll20 campaign and a number of other materials there. Please reach out to me in the server or directly on Discord (@nicky_perfect) if you have any other questions prior to Session 0.
Homebrew rules
House rules that the group decides on or special rules specific to the campaign will be discussed in Session 0 and posted to the Discord prior to Session 1. Note specifically that any 3rd party Pathfinder content requires GM permission to use. There are two optional rules that I use in all of my campaigns: 1) The antihero rule - grants an additional feat at first level for all characters. 2) Unchained Skills - Allows characters to select 2 background skills per level in addition to their main adventuring skills. This rule can be automatically tracked on the character sheet we use by clicking on settings, and then checking the box next to display/enable unchained skills in the rules options section.

How Nicky Perfect creates a safe table
A document including agreed upon lines and veils along with a safety checklist will be sent to all players after Session 0, and before Session 1. Discussion of safety features will be a main focus of session 0. I will provide players with digital safety cards to use in the VTT environment. We will take a scheduled 10 minute break at the halfway mark of each session. Additional breaks can be provided if required and/or agreed upon as part of our campaign planning. I will also be checking in regularly with players outside of sessions via Discord for Stars and Wishes discussions, both individually and as a group.
