About the adventure
A Role Play centered game to defeat evil, follow the curves and twists of the story and learn more of the Forgotten Realms and Lore of the world. Designed to have a series of campaigns to keep the story going even longer. The various runs and seasons within this campaign are designed to help you learn all about the lore and world building of the Forgotten Realms, starting with the Sword Coast area and then branching out from there. And of course the true focus - Dragons! exploring plots and events that will lead you all around, diving into places you've heard of and seeing the world through a new lens. Your characters will face danger, political intrigue, secrets of time and see their own backstories integrated into the world around them.

Neurodiversity is welcomed and understood; and I like to keep the table fairly clean. It also helps integrate sound and ambiance. I am also able to screen share with Discord should you not wish to get Talespire yet. I started as a Dungeon Master many years ago. Through the joint effort of some of my friends I was pulled into playing in my first one shot led by a friend who has played since 1st Edition. His masterful story telling and knowledge of the Lore, Rules and System inspired me to try and bring the same joy to others around me and I learned to DM to have more D&D happening locally. I'm a homeschool educator and work for the CAF Cadet program which allows my schedule to be quite flexible. Specializing in DMing for newbies and helping people learn the game both in person and online. I usually utilize the Forgotten Realms allowing people to learn more of the lore and get familiar with base concepts of the game, but I do include some homebrew to keep things fresh and a few fun house rules to keep things more engaging. StartPlaying for me is a place to meet new players, enjoy more online events and take part in the larger community. I primarily run games in Central Alberta, Canada in person and do many campaigns through my discord server as well which limits when I can offer time slots for events on StartPlaying and lowers my "games played" number but I hope to see you all soon! I am an Orthodox Christian, which does come with some adaptations of 5E as I do not include anything Occultic. I am willing to be stricter on pantheons or other areas for custom requests. Creating your character
Character creation can be done a couple of ways. For a campaign I give my players the use of a shared Obsidian Vault with MANY extra resources and in depth connectivity and Character Sheets. Joint notes and shared connections. Or that there are Character sheets within Talespire that can be utilized! From there, all resources within Obsidian for character options, ex race and class, are cleared and permitted. If you are using the character sheets in Talespire please stick to properly published content, and if in question for additional it can be run past me. Characters start at Level 1 for the first season of Tale of Dragons, with basic starting equipment and gold. Racial traits can be discussed. You are granted the full Hit Die for your rolled Hp up to level 5, and please use any method for your Stats Except the Rolled Stats as I find that can imbalance a party too easily. Please have your character ready using the following guidelines: - Maxed out Hit Points to Level 5 - One Uncommon or Common magic item - No class or race restrictions (but if it's homebrew please run it by me first) - Stats can be done in any method, but I do find Point Buy or Standard Array to be more balanced across the table. - Use of a Magical Focus replaces Components for Casters - No Encumbrance outside reason - I know DnDBeyond has been having issues as of late in selecting 2014 rules but if you're using that please try to keep it clear of 2024. I always encouraging using other methods for your character sheets. For my returning players the Obsidian Players Vault is usually the best option. Please make sure you connect to my Discord, have Talespire Guest or Full Edition Installed. I will send the Talespire Board Code 15minutes before game time in the Discord channel. If you would like to play with a custom Mini please connect your Herosforge or Titancraft account to your Talespire early on so that you can link you're mini as soon as we load. If you do Not wish to use a custom please let me know also so that I may prepare a mini for your character. What to expect
Preparing for the session
Most details will be handled through the discord, but you will also need to have Talespire Full or Talespire Guest Edition installed on your computer with symbiots and community content turned on. Additionally if you will be using the Obsidian we will need to do a special call to help you get all settled in with that.
What DM Niesa brings to the table
I like to use as much immersion as possible. From ambient sound and effects, descriptions of every sense, thousands of resources in the Obsidian and seats to play Talespire for free.
