About the adventure

When Empires Fall... is a high fantasy narrative that follows the story of how an elvish nation came to power 4,000 years ago and how it will fall 4,000 years later. The Eveorian Empire, ruled by House Everwyn, will fall...how will you take part in that downfall? Key Features of this campaign - Moral Ambiguity: Situations in which there is no clear moral response or action. - Political Intrigue: Navigate complex alliances and betrayals within and between nations. - Diverse Playstyles: Engage in diplomacy, espionage, or combat, shaping your character's path based on your preferred playstyle. I value tactical skirmishes with players. I find it fun when the players have me deafen so they can plot and scheme. I get wrapped in story telling with players as well! A player with range who can roleplay tense scenes, share the spotlight, and have fun is always welcomed. What about puzzles? I got those too. Riddles, traps, and puzzles riddle the game. Setting Lore: Our story takes place on the continent of Ethad, home to the Eveorain Empire, ruled by House Everwyn, the royal Elven Dynasty. This dynasty has ruled for 4,000 years. They came to power shortly after the Crown Wars, a war fought by those who sought to rule over the lands after the Celestial Proclamation, an agreement that the gods would not directly interfere with mortal affairs. It is Emperor Aurelian Everwyn’s rule. It has been 106 years since Emperor Aurelian was crowned. And since then, he has decreed vast changes to the Empire. Under his rule alone, humans have been given lordly titles, a change that hasn’t occurred for 1,000 years, not since Gnomes and Dragonborns were validated as nobles. Emperor Aurelian has been under scrutiny ever since this decree. In the current setting, the Eveorian Empire is threatened by many things. Noble Houses plot and scheme to power, resources dwindle as refugees flock to the Empire from a growing darkness in the far west, the population of the empire grows and diversifies...threatening the traditionalist elf perspective, and the Drow fight their own struggles against a growing power plaguing the Underdark. At Session 0, we will create characters grounded in the setting of the world; characters that will find themselves intertwined with the fate of the empire. I will provide intricate setting lore that will allow you to drop your character into a world teeming with possibility. My goal is to recruit players who are committed to telling a story, sharing the table and spotlight with others, having laughs, and maybe some tears here and there. All experiences are welcomed! Join us for: - A diverse array of encounters, spanning from diplomatic negotiations to epic battles against ancient foes. - Engaging storylines that dynamically respond to your choices and actions, ensuring an ever-evolving narrative. - A grand saga unfolding over multiple sessions, culminating in a journey that tells the downfall of the Empire.

About me

For a decade, I’ve guided heroes through cursed kingdoms, shattered timelines, and the hearts of gods themselves. I don’t just run games, I craft living stories where players become legends. My journey with Dungeons & Dragons began right after my father passed. While in my grief, my friends offered a space at their table. They offered an escape from reality. I saw how powerful D&D could be. And since then, I have been hooked. In the pandemic, I used Tik Tok as a means to connect to others in the D&D community. I now have 95k followers. I post tips, ideas, and humorous D&D content for both players and Dungeon Masters.

What Fitz brings to the table

Below are the things I bring to the table :) -A proper Session 0 -Discord Server + SonCraft/Lunabot: Bot for fantasy ambience music -D&D Beyond Subscription -VTT: Roll20 -Custom Maps/Tokens (If you have art, even better! Send it over and Ill make a token for you)

Homebrew rules

All House Rules are optional and must be agreed upon by the table before they are utilized: Modified Potion Rules: Full Action to heal the full amount vs Bonus Action to quaff, resulting in a roll of dice to heal. Modified Crits: Critical Hits always do full damage + a roll of the damage die (excluding bonus damage) Counterspell vs Counterspell = Wild Magic Recaps for Inspirations: Players can write a recap for each session from their character's perspective to gain a point of Inspiration for the next session! (Player's can stack up to one of these Inspirations) Surprise Round: The new 2024 rules dont cater to planned ambushes very well. Alternatively, we can use Baldur's Gate 3's approach to surpise rounds. The enacting ambushers can utilize their action against an opposing force, then initiative is rolled. The enacting force loses their action in the first round of combat, but retain movement and bonus action. They lose their action, because they used it to begin the ambush to guaruntee a surprise round.
