About the adventure
The Original Pitch: "A century has passed since the God-King Othedias betrayed the Pantheon, provoking divine punishment and abandonment by the gods that left the realm of the Halcyon Domain shattered, desolate, and eternally cursed. Throughout this shadow-choked land of decaying fortresses and dreadful monstrosities, surviving communities cling to hope in the face of lightless oblivion. In an Age of Umbra campaign, you’ll play heroic survivors who protect their community from the terrors beyond their walls, venture out into the unknown to hunt the nightmares that twist and grow with each fallen soul, seek answers to the curses that corrupt this world, and perhaps even discover a way to change its fate." The iteration being ran here is a twist on the premise; The setting and origin story are the same, but the starting point and journey for the party will be more... grave. In this version of the story, the players play as characters alive during the God King Othedias's betrayal of the Pantheon; witness the divine retribution, and fall to it... Until you rise from the grave two centuries later. Forced to witness what their home has become, the players will navigate this decayed dangerous setting, clinging between withering Sacred Pyres, and collecting the spirits of powerful corrupted beings. All in the hopes of gathering the required strength to vanquish the unknown Source of Umbra... About me
Forever passionate participant and observer of the arts. I love to create and see creative people out in the world! Technically played since I was a child, but really got into DMing in early 2019, picking up the role and falling in love with the hobby ever since. My games focus on the storybuilding aspect, encouraging player creativity & freedom. If you let me know what you want out of your character, I will give you the means to pursue it! We all love a good story, and those are best told together

Creating your character
Characters will be made on https://duality-codex.com/ , with resources for the system being managed via a Teamspeak Group Chat. Character sheets can be worked on beforehand, but details will be finalized during the (free) Session 0. You are free to come up with your character before Session 0, or have an idea, but the S0 itself is where character sheets will be filled out.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The games will be hosted on Talespire VTT. You will need to download the Guest Edition (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2881860/TaleSpire__Guest_Edition/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_1) in order to play. The program can be performance-intensive on bigger maps, so if this isn't an option, one of the players can stream it for you through Teamspeak. Character sheets will be hosted on Duality Codex (https://duality-codex.com/), you will need to create an account if you don't have one. Daggerheart's Core Rules are hosted there, and 3rd party options will be possible once you join the campaign via invite. Voice communications will be hosted on a Teamspeak Group Chat. Friend requests will be sent on joining the game! (Optional: Talespire has full Heroforge integration. If you would like to take your character customization a step further, make your PC in https://www.heroforge.com/ , send me the config link, and you'll see your mini in real time adventuring!) Sessions will be hosted on Talespire VTT. As a player, you just need to; - Download the Guest version (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2881860/TaleSpire__Guest_Edition/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1) - Accept the campaign invite codes once those are sent out (this will be during Session 0, so have Talespire downloaded beforehand!)
What Lens brings to the table
I utilize voices for NPC's, making each one unique for the players! As a big map enthusiast, you will almost always have some form of visual aid for clarity and mood setting. Talespire maps are 3D rendered, with music and ambience to enhance the mood. - A "cutscene"-like experience with narrative (no, seriously, Talespire has a cutscene mode). With camera shots sent to the players in real time, experience ttrpg story in a whole new way of immersion. - Expect a Rule of Cool GM mentality, with a big emphasis on player freedom and creativity!

How Lens creates a safe table
We will use the "X" system for unwanted content. If a theme, part of the story, or anything present in the campaign makes you uncomfortable, post an "X" in Talespire chat, Discord, or DM's, and it will be dropped/changed no questions asked. Your concerns and requests are valid at my table. After session, there is an optional debriefing, where we touch base on where the campaign is, and any potential changes you would like to see. As a GM, I do my best to make every single player feel included; If I don't hear anything from a certain player, I'll go out of my way to help you get involved in the story and enjoy yourself!
