About the adventure

A New Dawn in the Holds of Belkzen For centuries, the Holds of Belkzen have been defined by scars, infighting, and the lingering stain of service to the Whispering Tyrant. But the winds are shifting in the rugged badlands. Ardax the White-Hair, overlord of Urgir, has called for a Torrentmoot—a historic gathering of orc holds and foreign powers under the sacred peace of the Flood Truce. You are not mere mercenaries; you are low-ranking dignitaries representing a foreign state, a powerful organization, or a local hold. Whether you represent the mercantile interests of the Aspis Consortium, the scholarly pursuits of the Pathfinder Society, or the military caution of nations like Ustalav and Oprak, your mission is clear: navigate the complex politics of a "monstrous" nation and secure alliances that could reshape the inner sea. The Call to Action The campaign begins in the late spring of 4724 AR. As the snowcaps melt and the Flood Road turns into a rushing river, the traditionally hostile borders of Belkzen have opened. You have arrived at the moot to witness—and influence—the beginnings of a new chapter in orc history. Political Intrigue: Negotiate with rival holds like the sun-worshipping Burning Sun or the trade-savvy Empty Hand.Ancient Threats: Face the shadow of Tar-Baphon, the lich-king whose return threatens to turn orcs back into cannon fodder. Untamed Wilds: Navigate a land where survival is a badge of honor and the wildlife is as fierce as the warriors. Your Legend Begins Starting at level 3, you will navigate the complex web of orc diplomacy, prove your strength in martial challenges, and venture into the wilds to secure the stability of the realm. Will you be the architects of a unified Belkzen that takes its rightful place among the nations of Avistan? Or will you bear witness as the "Triumph of the Tusk" collapses into yet another tragedy for orc-kind?

About me

Hello everyone! My name is Jacob and I am hoping you will join me on an adventure! I have been a GM for the last 7 years, and have been playing Table Top Games just as long. My preferred system is Pathfinder 2e & Starfinder 2e, but I've also dabbled a bit with FFG Star Wars RPG. I cut my teeth GMing on Starfinder 1e as it was my first TTRPG experience, but fell in love with the 2e system Paizo introduced and pretty much haven't looked back. I also enjoy board games such as Descent, Mansions of Madness, Twilight Imperium, and Wingspan to name a few. I draw inspiration for my various games from many of the popular pop culture movies including LOTR, GOT, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Foundation but I also include my love of video game titles like Divinity Original Sin (1&2) & Dragon Age. I will run all of my games on Foundry VTT and utilize my discord for our voice chats. Thank you for reading and hope to be gaming with you soon!

Character creation

Creating your character

Variant rules in play: Free Archetype, Gradual Ability Boosts, and Ancestry Paragon Character creation will happen before game during session 0 or via Discord if you are joining after the campaign has already started. I Typically focus on using officially released Pathfinder 2e content from Paizo, but I do have several Roll for Combat modules that can be used if anyone is interested. All other third party content will need to be approved and have an established foundry module to be considered. For those familiar with Pathbuilder, it is a great tool to help build your character. I am also available via Discord if you have any questions before or after session 0 about your character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a free Discord Account as well as a free Forge account to access our VTT of choice - Foundry VTT. Please ensure you have a working headset and mic to be able to join in on the fun with us. Webcams are not required, but you can use one if you'd like.

What Jacob brings to the table

I will provide a discord server with dedicated text and voice channels for our game. I also provide the VTT Foundry via the Forge. The forge does require an account, but it is completely free.

Homebrew rules

1. Gradual Ability Boost - This popular variant rule is a favorite at most tables. However, because of Paizo's game design Pathfinder 2e and Starfinder 2e have very tight math windows that they expect players to be within. I have add a some guard rails to this variant rule to account for this. Martial characters can only improve their primary ability score at levels 5, 10, 15, & 20. Magus & Kineticist are considered martials for this rule. 2. Lore skills gained from your Background always gain the additional lore feat as a bonus feat. 3. All primary class casters receive a shadow signet ring for free at level 10. (Animist, Wizard, Psychic, etc.) 4. Automatic Rune Progression (including shields) is in place. This is not to be confused with Automatic Bonus Progression (item bonus still work in my games) 5. Recall Knowledge works as follows: Character rolls secret recall knowledge check and passes. GM will ask the character Offense, Defense, Special If the character picks offense they learn how martially adept the enemy is, if they have ranged, melee, or both attack types, and if the enemy can cast spells. If the character picks defense they will decide between two options: learn how armored the enemy is and the enemies highest and lowest save (if tied the GM gives a random answer) or if the enemy has any Immunities, weaknesses, or resistances. If the character picks special they learn all of the enemies special abilities. If the enemy has no special abilities the GM will provide the characters choice of offense or defense. If the enemy is unique and has many special abilities the GM will provide multiple answers and then inform the character there is more to learn. (If your character has abilities that proc off recall knowledge like Mastermind Rogue or Investigators Known Weakness you can continue to roll and if there is more information to be provided the GM will provide it. Otherwise, the continued rolls will just be for mechanical purposes.)

Safety

How Jacob creates a safe table

We will have a session 0 where we go over the basics of the game, character creation, and any question/concerns anyone has about the adventure path. I utilize a break typically a 10 minute break towards the middle of the session. Players can send me their Line and Veils directly in a Direct Message via Discord. I run all my game with an Open Door policy, which means if for any reason someone needs to step away from the campaign for a session, a couple of sessions, or the rest of the campaign that is acceptable. Real life always takes precedence over gaming life.
