About the adventure
Learn to create characters and play Dungeons and Dragons in a short campaign! Begin your journey into the world's most popular role-playing game with a personalized guided introductory adventure! The Story: You are part of a new adventuring company, celebrating a win and a loss in the City of Baldur's Gate. You tracked down a murderer in the city, who proved to be a frenzied werewolf, driven mad by the changing moon, but in the process of bringing it to justice, you lost a friend and comrade in arms. So it is with heavy hearts that you who remain are drinking together with the promise of quelling their pain as much as celebrating their victory. However, as you move from tavern to tavern in Baldur's Gate's infamous nightlife, you become lost in a fog, and are then approached by two strange children. They claim to have fled their home due to a "monster" - and their baby brother is still trapped within. As you and your party seek to help them they discover that the mystery is deeper than finding a single child and they may have entered a place from which there is no escape. (This adventure – should you choose – can lead into a greater adventure to unravel that mystery as well in the long term campaign “Curse of Strahd” which continues on in this strange realm your characters have found themselves in!) Who Am I? My name is Leland, and I am a Dungeon Master with over 25 years experience, with experience introducing new players to this hobby during that entire time. I use my background in education to provide a safe patient environment where players can learn to play at their own pace, and offer personalized support and guidance. What to Expect: This short campaign that will span 2-5 sessions, which includes a Session 0 where you will get hands on character creation guidance as well as an introduction to the rules and using a virtual tabletop to interact with the environment. We will then proceed into the adventure!

About me
Greetings, fellow travelers, my name is Leland and I am a Storyteller and Game Master with experience in TTRPG's, Live Action Role Play and writing. Thanks so much for checking out my profile and considering me to be your GM: whether you are a beginner at sitting down at a TTRPG table, or the most grizzled of veterans pulled in for one more "last job" I look forward to making a memorable experience with you! For me the passion for gaming started back in jr. high, over twenty years ago. I loved how much more immersed and interactive a roleplaying game was compared to the board games and video games I grew up playing. The love for the hobby followed me into university where I created a school sponsored organization celebrating all types of gaming and dedicated to bringing together a community of folks passionate to engage! Since then, I've helped tables as a GM to develop that same community aspect. A place where you don't just show up and leave on time like some 9-5 job, you're here to make memories with some awesome players who love the game as much as you. No matter who you are or what you believe, let's have fun together and see our heroes in exciting action against mighty foes! Can't wait to see you at the table!

During that session we can discuss specifics further and help to facilitate everyone's enjoyment.
