About the adventure

Rat’s Run is one of Baldur’s Gate’s filthiest little secrets: a crowded tavern where coin, blood, and bad decisions change hands by candlelight. In this level 12 one-shot, you’ll play capable, morally flexible adventurers drawn into Astarion’s orbit for what should have been a simple night out. Instead, the tavern becomes a pressure cooker of whispers, hidden threats, and closing exits. As tension builds and the walls seem to tighten around your group, you’ll need to decide who to trust, when to strike, and how far you’re willing to go to make it out alive. Expect stealth, sharp roleplay, sudden violence, and an atmosphere thick with danger. This game is ideal for players who enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3, gothic horror, urban intrigue, and messy character dynamics. You do not need deep lore knowledge to play, but fans of Astarion will recognize the tone immediately. Expect a dark, character driven one-shot with room for banter, tension, and a very bad night in Baldur’s Gate.

About me

I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for decades, starting with Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition, and I still love the same thing that drew me in from the beginning: the chance to step into a great story with other people and create something unforgettable together. Over the years, I’ve played through multiple editions, different styles of campaigns, and all the chaos and magic that come with long-term gaming. I eventually stepped into the GM role so someone else could finally have a chance to be a player, but once I got behind the screen, I realized I had found something I genuinely loved. Running great games is not just something I do, it is something I care deeply about. As a Game Master, I focus on creating sessions that feel immersive, well-paced, and personal to the people at the table. I want players to feel like their choices matter, their characters belong in the world, and every session moves the story forward in a meaningful way. I believe the best campaigns balance structure with freedom, strong storytelling with player agency, and preparation with room for those unexpected moments that make tabletop gaming special. When you join one of my games, you can expect a table that is welcoming, intentional, and built for memorable play. I take preparation seriously, I respect my players’ time, and I work to make every session feel like it was worth showing up for. Whether you’re here for rich roleplay, hard choices, tense combat, character growth, or simply the thrill of being part of a living story, my goal is to give you a game that feels engaging from the first scene to the last. If you’re looking for a GM who cares about the experience, knows how to keep the story moving, and wants every player to feel like they matter, I’d be glad to welcome you to my table.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters should be created in D&D Beyond before the session. For this one-shot, please build a level 12 character using the 2024 D&D 5e rules whenever available; if a 2024 version of an option is not available, the 2014 version is absolutely fine. Official Wizards of the Coast material and approved partnered content are welcome, but Grim Hollow, homebrew, and other unapproved content won’t be used for this game. Ability scores are point buy only. If you’d like help with your build, your concept, or making sure everything comes together cleanly before game day, I’m happy to help.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You’ll only need a browser, Discord, and access to D&D Beyond to play. I’ll send out the Foundry link before the session, and I’m happy to help with setup ahead of time if needed. Please have your character sheet ready before game time and take a little time to review your key features, spells, and combat options, since level 12 play runs best when everyone arrives ready to jump in. My goal is to make getting to the table easy, smooth, and stress free.

What Bauric brings to the table

You can expect a polished, character driven one-shot with strong pacing, immersive roleplay, clear rules support, and tactical combat that stays exciting without becoming overwhelming. I aim to create a table that feels welcoming, cinematic, and easy to step into, with plenty of room for banter, tension, bold choices, and memorable character moments. Whether you’re here for the Baldur’s Gate atmosphere, the drama of adventuring alongside Astarion, or simply a well-run night of D&D, my goal is to give you a session that feels smooth, engaging, and worth your time from start to finish.

Safety

How Bauric creates a safe table

At the start of the session, we will briefly align on expectations, character choices, and table comfort. This game uses X, N, and O Cards, Open Door, scheduled breaks, and debriefing tools. Players may raise concerns at any time, publicly or privately, and content can be paused or redirected without pressure. I run my table with an emphasis on respect, clarity, and psychological safety. Boundaries are taken seriously, and the goal is to create a space where players can stay engaged, comfortable, and supported throughout the session.
