About the adventure
Centuries ago, a powerful dragonward was cast over Waterdeep to protect the city from draconic conquest. But now that ward is fading, and because of your connections to the Lord’s Alliance, you have been summoned to undertake a quest to save your city from ruin. The Open Lord has entrusted you and your companions with a rare and precious jewel—an essential component of the dragonward itself. To restore its fading power, the jewel must be rekindled by attuning it to the hoards of ten distinct dragons. But time is running out. Whispers speak of a terrible wyrm that once sought to claim Waterdeep beginning to stir once more. If the jewel’s power is not restored soon, Waterdeep will surely fall beneath the horror of the undead dragon.

Creating your character
Do not bring a finished character to Session Zero. Bring 3 loose ideas and a willingness to change them, if needed. Character hooks for this campaign have been specifically designed to create a unified party with players directly tied to the events of the campaign. While the terms of these character hooks are non-negotiable, players have free reign to design any character they wish within those narrative bounds. During Session Zero, you will be given a Google Form asking a few important questions about your character. We will discuss as a group who everyone wants to play, and nail down who they are as a character first. Once your form is submitted, you will be granted access to the VTT and a character sheet for you to begin making your character mechanically. You will have up until your first play session to finish your character sheet. Mechanically, characters can be made using content from the 5.5e Players Handbook and Heroes of Faerûn.
