About the adventure
The king of Barrenbrine has fallen ill. You have been entrusted with a dangerous task - set off into the islands of the Shining Sea in search of a spark of divinity, an aspect of the gods themselves, to heal the king and reclaim the mythic powers of your nation. But beware... The Shining Sea is home to many of the world's deadliest creatures. From giants to sea serpents to creatures summoned by the gods themselves, will you fall like so many others against a tide of monsters, or will you rise and gain the powers of the gods? Mythic Odyssey of Barrenbrine is a Pathfinder 1E campaign using the mythic rules. You will begin your journey with your first sliver of divinity (level 5, 1st level of mythic) and grow to gain higher and higher levels of mythic power as the campaign continues. Where the campaign heads will be entirely up to the party and determine the fate of the kingdom. The general vibe of the campaign will be a Greek/Roman analogue setting with monuments, dungeons and monsters that have survived for hundreds of years and active gods with shifting motivations. The campaign will be a mix of combat and roleplaying opportunities with chances of gaining allies for the epic battles to come.

About me
Looking for the low-level to high-level campaign that you've never been able to complete? Hi! My name is Eli and I'm a professional dungeon master. I run long-term campaigns with a heavy emphasis on roleplay and challenging combat. I like games where you really get to know your character and the world around you, but also feel powerful and engaged when swords flash and magic erupts. My preferred system is Pathfinder 2e, but most of my experience is with Pathfinder 1e and D&D 5th edition. I currently live in South Carolina, USA. I also put a focus on memorable NPCs -- people with distinctive voices built by their background and worldview. That goes double for antagonists; you will love to hate the enemies that stand in your way. But the game is about your characters. Every game that I GM should feel like the characters already live in the world and their background has affected how the world reacts to them. Even in pre-published adventures, your character changes everything. And I always place player enjoyment first. This is your game: you should feel empowered, included and accepted no matter who you are. So, what do you say? Want to go on an adventure?

Creating your character
Final character decisions should be made during session zero. Stats will be decided with a 22 point buy starting at level 5 and all that includes. Characters will start with 10,000 gold to buy starting equipment and a guaranteed +1 armor and +1 weapon -or- wondrous item worth 2,000 gold or less. All official Paizo books are valid for character creation. If there is something outside of official Paizo books, it must be cleared.

What Elijah brings to the table
I am very much an immersive game master. I have a curated list of ambiences and music provided by Tabletop RPG Music and Tabletop Audio. Maps will be created as needed for this campaign. I will voice every NPC to give them character and a place in the world, but voices are not required for players. As this is a mythic campaign, I fully expect the rules to go off the rails, but that is also the fun of this kind of campaign. I ask for patience when the chaos ensues.
Homebrew rules
We will be using the Elephant in the Room Feat Tax rules which means that certain feats will be acquired easier and have some buffs.

How Elijah creates a safe table
Before the first session, a content list will be sent to all players to show what things they are comfortable with and what things they are not comfortable with. Please complete this and send it back to me. This is especially important as we deal with a setting known for some mythical subject matter. During session zero, we will go over the scope of the campaign and what is expected. My general movie rating for my games is PG-13 with some dips into R rating, but it depends on what the table is comfortable with. If anyone has any issues, feel free to reach out to me and we can discuss it.
