About the adventure

Mechfall: Rogue Titans is a cinematic, narrative-driven play-by-post experience inspired by the high-impact action and pilot–mech bond of the Titanfall series. You are freelance mech pilots; rogues, outcasts, and soldiers of fortune, taking contracts across a fractured frontier where corporations, warlords, and desperate colonies all have their price. Drop from orbit into hostile zones, carve your way through impossible odds, and decide what kind of reputation your crew will build in a world that never stops growing. This game is built for story-first players who want to focus on character, momentum, and cinematic action rather than dense rules. While it uses the bones of the Lancer system, it is heavily simplified to support fast, fluid, and dramatic play-by-post pacing. If you love describing brutal mech clashes, last-second saves, stylish combat maneuvers, and the personalities behind the pilots, you’ll feel right at home here. This is not a game for crunchy, mechanics-heavy players looking for deep optimisation, strict rules interactions, or tactical grid-based play. Instead, expect rulings over rules, collaborative storytelling, and a focus on “what looks awesome” over “what is technically optimal.” Combat will still be present and meaningful… but always in service of the narrative, not the other way around. The extensive and often times intimidating lore of the Lancer universe is not necessary for this game as a homebrew story and universe based on just the foundational points of Lancer are what this game is built on. At its core, this is a game about a ragtag crew: your debts, your loyalties, your rivalries, and the bonds forged between pilots and their machines. The world is entirely homebrewed and will evolve with your actions; every contract you take, every choice you make, and every line you cross will leave a mark. Whether you become legends, disasters, or something in between is up to you.

About me

I’m a passionate Game Master with a deep love for storytelling, immersive roleplay, and cinematic gameplay. I’ve been running tabletop RPGs for several years, with a focus on Daggerheart, Cyberpunk RED, Masks and more recently diving into some horror systems like Mothership. I specialise in crafting adventures with strong narrative arcs, dynamic NPCs, and a focus in player-driven choices that shape the world. My background includes years of experience in creative project management, which I now pour into building engaging campaigns, and memorable one-shots. Whether you’re a brand new player or a seasoned veteran, my goal is to create a fun, inclusive, and welcoming table where everyone gets a chance to shine. I love blending roleplay with tactical encounters, mystery, and moments of levity, and I’ll always make sure your character has a place in the story. Let’s roll some dice and tell an epic story together!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place before the game begins, with support available every step of the way to make the process smooth and accessible—especially given the simplified, narrative-first approach of this game. All players will create their pilot and mech (frame) using the free companion app COMP/CON, which handles the bulk of the system’s complexity for you. You’ll be starting at a low license level (LL0–LL1) to reflect a fresh crew of mercenaries building their reputation, though your characters are encouraged to have history, personality, and strong motivations from the outset. While the game uses the foundation of Lancer, you are not expected to master the rules or optimise your build. The focus is on creating a character and mech that feel cool, thematic, and fun to play in a narrative sense. If you’re unsure about anything, whether it’s mech loadouts, pilot gear, or even just where to start; you’ll have full support. Character creation will be a collaborative process hosted on the Discord server for Tasty Games, where you can ask questions, share ideas, and get help from both the GM and your fellow players. This also helps establish party dynamics early, so your ragtag crew already feels connected before the first contract begins. In short: use COMP/CON, keep it simple, focus on flavour over optimisation, and don’t hesitate to lean on the group.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Create your pilot and mech using COMP/CON and join the game’s Discord server. That’s all you need—everything else will be handled there.

What KingTasty (Elliot) brings to the table

I run a narrative-first, cinematic game where the focus is on momentum, character, and spectacle. Expect vivid descriptions, high-impact mech action, and a strong emphasis on the Rule of Cool—if it sounds awesome and fits the moment, we’ll make it happen. Combat is streamlined and story-driven rather than tactical and grid-focused, designed to keep things moving quickly in a play-by-post format. I’ll provide a rich, evolving homebrew setting, reactive worldbuilding shaped by your decisions, and a strong spotlight on your pilots—their personalities, relationships, and growth. You can also expect consistent pacing, clear rulings, collaborative storytelling, and support throughout, whether that’s helping with your mech, your character arc, or just bouncing ideas around between posts.

Homebrew rules

This game uses a heavily simplified, narrative-focused adaptation of Lancer to better suit play-by-post and cinematic storytelling. • Abstracted combat: No grids or strict positioning—range, movement, and terrain are handled narratively. • Simplified rolls: Fewer modifiers and faster resolutions; I’ll often call for a single roll to resolve an entire action. • Rule of Cool priority: Creative, cinematic actions are encouraged and supported over strict mechanical interactions. • Flexible mech loadouts: Your gear and weapons are treated more narratively, allowing style and flavour to take priority over optimisation. • Streamlined damage & consequences: Instead of tracking every detail, outcomes focus on impactful moments, conditions, and narrative stakes.

Safety

How KingTasty (Elliot) creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety are a priority in this game. Given the intense and cinematic nature of the story, there may be moments of emotional bleed between player and character, and we’ll handle it with awareness and respect. I operate with an open door policy, meaning you can always reach out to me privately at any time if something feels uncomfortable, overwhelming, or just not fun. We’ll adjust as needed—no questions asked. The goal is to create a space where everyone can enjoy the story, feel heard, and engage at their own comfort level.
