About the adventure
🩸 Take a contract from the Venari Tenebris 🌲 Hunt what stalks beyond the light 🔎 Follow the clues, uncover the truth, and claim your bounty ⚔️ A beginner-friendly dark fantasy one-shot with roleplay, investigation, and combat Who do you call when the dark grows hungry? When the forest presses close and the mountains brood overhead, when people are vanishing into the wilds, and caravans fail to arrive. Fear hangs over the town like fog. The Venari Tenebris have posted a contract for those willing to hunt what others dare not face. In this Level 5 beginner-friendly dark fantasy one-shot, you will play monster hunters hired to track a monster or monsters that lurk in the woods. Your hunt will lead from fearful whispers and bloodstained clues to dangerous ground where sharp instincts matter as much as sharp steel. This game is for players who enjoy gothic atmosphere, tense investigation, meaningful roleplay, and satisfying combat. It is welcoming to new players, with support for learning as you play, while still offering a rich and dramatic hunt for experienced adventurers. Expect a cooperative monster-hunting story, grim fantasy vibes, and a contract that may be far more dangerous than it first appears.

About me
I have been playing tabletop games for as long as I can remember. I only started DM'ing a few years ago for friends, which of course made me the forever DM! I am also a mental health therapist, and over the last year, I started DMing in-person therapeutic TTRPGs for teens. and adults. I love giving players the space to explore themselves and their characters. I love coming up with fun, quirky NPCs and building out inclusive and expansive worlds for players.

What Rev brings to the table
I provide an immersive, beginner-friendly experience with narration, creative NPCs, ambient music, and a mix of roleplay, investigation, and tactical combat. My style is supportive, story-driven, and easy to jump into for new players, while still offering tension and meaningful choices for experienced ones. I use the rules as written as a guide, but I embrace the rule of cool. I reward clever ideas, creative problem-solving, and strong roleplay.

Safety
How Rev creates a safe table
Player safety is a priority for me. The aim of this one-shot is to be both fun and challenging. During the game, you can message me directly should any issues come up. After you register, please feel free to send a message about any content boundaries you might have. I'll be sure to incorporate those limits when developing the one-shot. If anything intense or difficult happens during the game, I’ll provide a safe space for players to debrief, either in person after the session or digitally via a private message. I’m always available for private conversations to ensure everyone’s emotional and mental well-being is considered, and I’ll offer additional support if needed. The goal is to keep the game fun, engaging, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved.
