About the adventure

Gambler's Paradise is a Cyberpunk adventure set in 2052, in which the US has sunk further into depravity and depression, while continuing to warmonger and develop next-generation technology. Your Cyberpunk will be arriving in Las Vegas to make their fortune, and find a city riddled with Vices & Organized Crime. Balance your partying with the paper-thin loyalties of the Families, who are one reason away from going to war with one another. Even if blood spills onto the streets, everyone around is too locked into their augmentations, virtual slot machines, and drink to notice. The entire city is further zombified by Augmented Reality, but those with their eyes open can see the prize! Players will be given a cursory GURPS tutorial to help them build a character, then let into the game as part of a crew moving up in the big city, Sin City specifically. If you'd like to play this game at a different day or time, please feel free to message me! About me

I am a longtime TTRPG GM that loves Pathfinder & GURPS, with a large library of books, art assets, and time to share with my players, it is my favorite thing to do. I am a huge fan of roleplay and often modify mechanics to benefit storytelling & session fluidity. I use Foundry VTT, which is free to my players, and includes vast customization options for every campaign & every participant. Please take a look at this Google Sheet for all of my GURPS games: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OIi-Yp_5L2k4LvJ_L-YxgZ_YF7QIsZr4h0PIoit8fKM/edit?usp=sharing

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be made in GURPS Character Sheet (GCS) a free program with a large database of character-building assets. The PCs are made with 150 Character Points, -40 Disadvantage Limit. Each player will get a chance to consult with the other players in the Discord server, but ultimately will end up making their Character with the GM, before their debut on Session 1.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Have a Discord & Forge Account, as Discord is used for all communication and The Forge is used to host the Foundry VTT game. Both accounts are free to make and maintain. Players should also read GURPS 4th Edition Basic Set, Chapters 1 - 4 to learn how to make an average character and monster. Additional reading ideas will be provided during the character-making process as well as during the Session 0.

What John brings to the table

Foundry VTT, which is free to players, a library of GURPS 4e books that will be available to players, and custom art assets & maps, some powered by AI. Ambient music will be used to set the tone and mood of a location or scene. The game will involve a high level of Intrigue, including Puzzles & Social Engineering, like those involved in Factions & Politics. To a lesser degree, Roleplay will be regular, not Heavy nor Lite, and Combat will likely be Lite but very important in the cases that it does arise!

How John creates a safe table

The GM and players will have a Session 0 where they discuss content they don't want to see, and how to go forward so everyone is happy. Players can also discuss breaks, as needed, for longer sessions.
