About the adventure
Step into a classic fantasy adventure set along the rugged frontier of the Sword Coast, where small-town troubles hide something far more dangerous beneath the surface. What begins as a simple job quickly unfolds into a story of missing persons, hidden agendas, and growing threats that test both courage and trust. Expect a grounded, story-rich journey with moments of mystery, tension, and bursts of action that keep you leaning forward. This game is designed for players who enjoy immersive storytelling, meaningful choices, and a balance of roleplay and combat. I lean toward a narrative-driven style where your character’s personality, decisions, and relationships shape how the story evolves. Combat is present and impactful, but it serves the story—every encounter has stakes, and every victory (or failure) matters. Come ready to explore, collaborate, and tell a story together—one where even the smallest choices can echo into something legendary.

About me
I started as a home Dungeon Master, creating stories for friends and watching simple sessions turn into unforgettable memories. Now I want to bring that same experience to more people—especially those who’ve always wanted to try D&D but didn’t know where to start. Also, coming from a distinct place, namely the Philippines, I believe there are a lot of unique stories to be told.

Creating your character
You can create any character you’d like following the D&D 5e ruleset. The setting leans toward a darker, grittier tone, so characters grounded in that style of fantasy—scarred, desperate, or morally complex—will fit especially well.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We’ll be diving into a classic adventure along the frontier of the Sword Coast. The party is hired by Gundren Rockseeker to escort a supply caravan to the town of Phandalin. What should be a simple job quickly turns into something far more dangerous when your employer mysteriously disappears and the road ahead proves anything but safe. Uncover the truth behind his disappearance and the growing dangers surrounding this once-quiet region. Kindly prepare a level 3 character sheet using the standard 27-point buy system. You may use character creation rules from the Player’s Handbook as well as other official D&D published materials. We will be using Roll20 for the VTT and Discord call for voice communications. I hope to see you there!
What Joshua Dimalanta brings to the table
I do my best to do voices, I utilize ambient music where possible. I am a descriptive story teller so be ready for settings and battles described in detail. I love the rule of cool. If it sounds cool, and possible in game, we can go ahead and roll for it.
Homebrew rules
My main homebrew method is that potions are bonus actions. Other than that we will use the rule of cool. If it sounds good abnd is perfectly reasonable in game we will roll for it!

How Joshua Dimalanta creates a safe table
Prior to starting the campaign we will have a session 0 to discuss what to expect for the upcoming campaign as well as to intro the adventure ahead. Moreover, and a more important point to discuss is that in the campaign we will go through some horror concepts and ideas that some people find disturbing so I will also discuss that. Will also remind the players that we are all friends at the table, we will not welcome conflicts and in fighting. All of those would be dealt with as swiftly and as harshly as DM's discretion can allow. I also welcome discussion so you can message me directly before, during and after the campaign to discuss ideas, events and topics in the campaign. I look forward to writing stories with you!
