About the adventure

Sablewood Messengers, Daggerheart's quickstart adventure, is a 1-to-2-hour introduction to the game with a distinctively heroic bent. In it, you fight brigands, encounter the Hush Woods's creatures, and aid in a perilous ritual to restore the wards protecting your city. And you need to be quick, as without the wards, your city, the Vale, is practically defenseless to invasion. Hi👋, I'm Franc, better known as Golvin. I'd like to be your GM. While I mainly run D&D, Call of Cthulhu, and Alien RPG, my real pleasure is trying new modules and systems. (Cowboy Bebop RPG anyone?) Which has led me to a specialization in running one-shots, often including highly detailed handouts, pre-made characters, and other player aids. Character creation

Creating your character

Players can choose from 5 pre-made characters handcrafted for this adventure, Demiplane's selection, or create their own using Demiplane. If you'd like access to my compendium or want help with character creation, please let me know. That way, I can send you the relevant links or schedule time to help. However, if your character isn't complete by the session's start time, I will ask you to use a pre-made character.

To participate in the game, you will need: ✔️A Roll20* account (free), ✔️A Discord account (free), ✔️A Demiplane account (free), ✔️A microphone, ✔️A headset or quiet space (i.e. no background noise, please). *Roll20 doesn't do well with touch screens.

How Golvin - One-Shot GM creates a safe table

As part of onboarding for the game, I send players my Line & Veils and ask for theirs in return. Which are then confirmed at the beginning of the session as part of a mini-session 0. During the game, if anything disturbs you, please tell me, leave an "X" in the chat, or privately message me. I will then remove the offending or skip past it. Likewise, if you feel the adventure is going in an unsavory direction but use an "N" instead. I will also check in if I notice anything is off.
