About the adventure
This game is for everybody, new to the system or professionals, with one key exception to the rule: YOU HAVE TO BE CREATIVE! We look for style AND substance in our players, and we provide the same. This game focuses on heavy roleplay, with character arcs for both the players and the NPCs. This includes a session zero where the players create a coterie, develop bonds with one another (both inside the game and outside, for better cooperation!) and strategize for the upcoming story. Combat can be avoided, but your consequences will always have actions! You will not find: boring encounters, the same three quirky NPCs, 5 turn combat, "balanced" gameplay. You will find: an accomodating GM that will always want to play WITH the PCs, not against them, a strong storytelling component, good technical knowledge (Diagrams, Maps, Webs of Relationships, Ambience) Why Chronicles of Darkness? This story utilizes Vampire: The Requiem as a basis for its vampires.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I like being everywhere: I’ve started with Cyberpunk, but I’ve dabbled with Vampire, Hunter, Silt Verses, F.I.S.T., even trying my hand at some Pirate TTRPGs. I love titles where I can reward my players mechanically for acting according to their character, for doing good roleplay. I believe that the only way to find out things about yourself is through imagining characters. There's a little bit of ourselves in those characters and that agency helps us approach the darkest parts of our soul from a safe distance. My favorite part of GM-ing is worldbuilding. Expect decrepit descriptions of desolate dumps, vivid visual graphics, suave sounds (music, ambience and everything in-between). I love to stimulate all the senses and tell a story through all the mediums. At the end of the day, the GM and the players are engaging in collaborative storytelling, with the GM serving as a guide through their world. When the players and the GM have a connection – “chemistry” – the system is augmented by their roleplay, no matter what it is.

Creating your character
Players need to decide on one of the five available archetypes to play based on their desired mode of play (The Devil, The Nightmare, The Puppetmaster, The Sensualist, The Wolf). Then, during the first session, the players form a common background as a coterie (30-60 minutes), also crafting their character in the meantime (10-15 minutes).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
- Make an Owlbear Rodeo account - Join the Discord server (DM me on Startplaying for a link if you don't receive it) - Attend a voice interview before the session in which we discuss our Lines, Veils & get a general feeling Player-to-GM - Read the basic rules for Undying - Browse as much as you want through the Wiki (https://gmantabletops.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page) to get a feeling for the atmosphere of the campaign and the setting
What G-man brings to the table
I will provide a virtual tabletop, a music bot for ambience & music, character sheets and the core rulebooks. My experience as a GM (for Vampire and other tabletops) guarantees I focus on the players and the story they want to tell, together with me! As well as that, our server is packed with: optional channels for downtime, including social media RP, character introductions, soundtrack suggestions. I provide quick responses to any and all questions, a friendly and excited attitude and, overall, a desire to have fun and tell a compelling story!
Homebrew rules
None, although I am considering drafting new archetypes ("playbooks") if it is necessary.

How G-man creates a safe table
After the end of every session, we will discuss as a group what we enjoyed and what we disliked about the session, including things such as music (too loud/distracting?), ambience (specific triggers that weren't mentioned previously, like dogs barking), characters (if they were too pushy or not), but also our expectations for the future sessions. This is both a session for feedback/debriefing (from the GM to the players, from the players to the GM and for players by other players), as well as a short aftercare for any sort of bleed-through of emotional depth from the story into real life. Breaks will occur every hour and a half, usually at the midpoint of the session. However, the players can take a break at any point as long as they let the GM know! We will keep a Google Docs where players can anonymously add and keep track of everybody's triggers, lines & veils, linked to each group specifically for easy tracking. X, N & O cards will be sent via DM on Discord to the GM.
