About the adventure

The Salish Sea - An area of treacherous waters known frequently as "The Graveyard of the Pacific". Over 2,000 documented shipwrecks are recorded along the coast of the Pacific Northwest and Washington. The history in this region runs deep in culture, myth, and tales of horror... Prince Mercy of Olympia and Baron Ingram of Seattle have been in a stalemate over claiming territory between their two cities along the interstate corridor for the better part of a decade. A recent proxy war held with select fledglings and neonates from each faction within the city of Tacoma has toppled the previous statue quo, and one of these mighty sovereigns feels their power grip loosen ever so slightly. Although, drifters moving through the area claim to hear rumors about schisms developing within the leadership of both domains. Several elders from both domains have gone missing, while documented encounters with other supernatural events and entities have increased throughout the entire region of the Salish Sea. Meanwhile, the peninsula area's werewolf population has been growing unchecked since the Camarilla originally lost control of Seattle after the Anarch Free State in California was established. Kindred survival is becoming increasingly difficult, as thin-bloods appear and Cainites suffer issues siring fully-fledged vampires, and the dreaded Second Inquisition has been culling through supernatural presence within the region, fueled by the egregiously massive corporate funding from businesses headquartered within the region. --- This chronicle features two possible factions at its current iteration within the shared universe: Salish: A Masquerade Chronicle (Capital Midnights - Camarilla, Olympia) and Salish: A Masquerade Chronicle (Seattle By Night - Anarch, Seattle) Each of these tables is ran separately, but in a way where the actions of each table can influence the region in a way that impacts the other city and faction, creating a fun and dynamic setting for players to engage in. While I may not describe the game as "combat-lite", I would certainly warn away people who seek to engage in mostly combat over roleplaying. These chronicles will be "roleplay heavy", and the primary focus will be creating a rich, vibrant social and political experience for players to engage with. All this over a backdrop of vivid supernatural threats inspired by local horrors, dynamic interactions from other players in the shared universe, and existential threats to the very existence of kindred within the area in modern days. We'll be exploring deeply the rich, vivid cityscapes that are a backdrop to the forefront of the storytelling adventure - which is delving deeply into the moral quandary of being a monster in a world full of older, more powerful, and deadlier monsters.

About me

My first experience with tabletop was playing Ravenloft from Advanced Dungeons and Dragons over at my neighbors house when I was in second grade. We would sketch things out on paper and grid paper, and my friends older brother would GM! We played Ravenloft for years until the GM eventually bought an Eberron book. We played all the way through until around high school, where each of us took turns playing and GMing together. During high school I was involved in a play by post Star Wars forum where I was very active, moving to a mod and GM eventually. Just after high school, I was introduced to White Wolf, World of Darkness and Vampire: The Requiem LARP by a friend from the east coast. I played in the Pacific Northwest as a member of the White Wolf LARP, and still have my member number to this day. I played from Portland to Seattle, and everywhere between, at one point playing around 4-5 nights per week in different cities, eventually becoming a chapter and domain storyteller. I met my girlfriend at Vampire: The Requiem LARP and we are still together 18 years later playing RPGs and tabletop! Consistently since then, I've been GMing for multiple groups of friends constantly in real life, running games for different systems, including: D&D 3rd-5.5E, Pathfinder, Star Wars, Vampire: The Masquerade, Traveller, Cyberpunk RED, Warhammer, Mork Borg, Coriolis, and numerous others! Now, I'm taking a step to making my dreams come true, sharing my GMing passion with more people!

Character creation

Creating your character

Once contact is made over Discord, players will receive an invite link to a Demiplane chronicle where they may begin creating their character. Before settling on a character, a quick conversation is needed to discuss backstory, ambitions, desires, convictions, and touchstones - the things that really drive your character! Once that's all good, you're free to make your character! Options include: 1. Making a Childer/Fledgling (Default) 2. Making a mortal ghoul attached to an SPC or another player, and then roleplay your turning at a naturally developed point in game (Requires background approval) 3. Making a Neonate (Requires background approval) *No Thin-Bloods **No Caitiff without Approval

What GM Seth brings to the table

I have been playing Vampire: The Masquerade both as LARP and Tabletop for almost 20 years, and I have a dramatic passion for it! It's a mature, dark, creepy, wild ride! People who love horror genre or suspense novels, movies, and TV shows are natural fits. People who are generally curious? Love that, come by. There's several tools I use to weave intricate webs of intrigue within the cities with believable SPCs with their own unique ambitions and desires that help drive the cities to feel real and alive. Relationship maps, handouts, SPC artwork, scene artwork, and music are all used to help generate the proper vibe to use alongside Theater of the Mind roleplay and visceral, narrative combat. Building a world that is easy to understand, and complex to overcome is my goal. I want it to feel like you always know several options that are laid out before you within living plots that evolve, allowing you to choose the ones that are most interesting and most important to your experiences! Along with that, this is set in a shared universe, where other tables will be playing within nearby cities - whether it's the Camarilla stronghold within Olympian Midnights in the capital of Washington or the Anarchs in Seattle By Night - the Emerald City itself. This shared universe will create ripples from other tables and player actions that will drive completely unscripted events that will shape truly unique experiences in each session!

Homebrew rules

I don't use too many homebrew rules in my Chronicle - other than the fact that its in a shared universe / west marches style where other tables in the Salish: A Masquerade Chronicle universe share the same close regional ties but are set within different neighboring cities. No Thin-Bloods No Caitiff without Approval

How GM Seth creates a safe table

We'll go over some warnings in chat before the session and discuss any potential lines and veils as a playgroup. I prefer lines and veils, and having players take a moment to step away if they need to!
