About the adventure
Welcome to Lancer, the game of mech combat! Thousands of years in the future, the galaxy still faces many threats. When citizens of the Union are in danger they trust Lancers, elite mech pilots, to save the day. You are one such pilot. You-and your fully customizable mech-are the best of the best. In this game, we'll be playing a short campaign with the pre-created adventure Operation Winter Scar. It's perfect for beginners, but exciting for veterans too. This will be a short campaign, taking the players from License Level 2 to License level 4. Mostly, the operation will be a series of challenging mech battles, but there will be room for roleplaying as well. War has broken out on the world of Cressidium, as an ultra-nationalist coup in the Vestan Sovereignty tries to destroy the Leandric States Alliance and their allies from the Union (that's you!). You've joined a special task force of Union and LSA forces, and your skill with your mech has helped the LSA gain the upper hand. However, the Union has uncovered information about a secret Vestan weapon codenamed TARTARUS. It has the power to change the course of this war... unless you stop it. The freedom of Cressidium will come down to you and a few good mechs. Can you handle it?

About me
Hello, I'm Caestus. I've been playing roleplaying games ever since I was old enough to do so. I've played or run 100 different rpgs. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy. I've been running games for friends and family for years. While I feel that telling a good story is a key part of being a good gamemaster, more important than the story is making sure all the players at the table have a good time; I consider that the chief duty of any gamemaster. I run a wide variety of games here and I hope you enjoy playing RPGs with me.

Creating your character
Players will start a License Level 2. All mechs and options from the core book, Operation Solstice Rain and Operation Winter Scar are available.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need accounts for discord and roll20, as well as a working mic. The rules for Lancer are also necessary, but Massif Press kindly features a free "players version".
What Caestus brings to the table
I will provide a Roll20 loaded with maps and appropriate mech images for the players to employ and visualize the battle. We'll also have music, and even sound effects. There will be roleplaying and some skill usage, but Lancer is primarily a mech combat system. I have experience running and playing Lancer, and should be able to set up some exciting, challenging battles for the players.

How Caestus creates a safe table
We will review any Lines and Veils from players in the first session. In general, Operation Winter Scar features battles and intense mecha combat but has no gratuitously brutal content.
