About the adventure

This is a 10-session, beginner-focused Dungeons & Dragons campaign set in the world of Exandria. If you ever wanted to learn D&D, but didn't know where to start, this is your table! We'll walk through everything together. We'll go over rules, roleplay, combat, and character choice in a fun, informative setting. You will not feel lost at this table. You won't be expected to know the rules, understand combat, or be "good at roleplay". We'll address all of those as they come up. This campaign is designed to teach you the game step-by-step while still delivering a full, story-driven adventure. By the end, you’ll feel confident jumping into any long-term campaign—whether you continue with me or explore other tables. I’ll also help guide you toward your next step when the journey concludes. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to try D&D—this is it. Join the table, bring your curiosity, and we’ll take it from there.

About me

Hi! My name is Ethan, and I'm hopefully your new GM! I have been GM-ing for 5 years now, and it truly is my passion! I started Gm-ing because I was having a tough time finding a table to play at, and figured I'd make one myself! That decision has turned into multiple tables, full length campaigns, and some of the best memories I've made. I am a lifelong nerd, a military veteran, and a father. I can't wait to see what kind of stories we can tell together!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created during Session Zero, which is where we will discuss safety tools, the campaign itself, and the world. I will walk you through the steps to creating a fun and engaging character that feels as if they belong in the world.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be in Discord for voice chat, D&DBeyond for character sheets, and Roll20 for maps. If you do not have accounts in these platforms, please create one. After that, all you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to learn and explore!

What Ethan (AggressiveViper) C. brings to the table

I run roleplay-heavy, collaborative games where your choices shape the world. I focus on building immersive settings, meaningful character moments, and combat that feels like part of the story. This campaign is a bit different due to the focus on learning, but I always make sure my players are having fun. I specialize in helping new players feel comfortable quickly, without pressure or overwhelm.

Safety

How Ethan (AggressiveViper) C. creates a safe table

Ensuring each and every player feels safe and comfortable is my top priority. Therefore, I require each player to fill out a Lines and Veils document pre-session zero. This document will inform a session zero discussion regarding other aspects of the campaign. I have an anytime open-door policy and utilize a 15-minute break halfway through each and every session, as well as a session debrief with stars and wishes after each session.
