About the adventure

For fans of the Avatar franchise and people excited to play in these worlds! Taking place a year after the end of "Avatar: The Legend of Korra", this campaign will deal with the aftershocks of the Battle of Republic City and the consequences of Avatar Korra's opening of a spirit world portal and her sudden disappearance. Play as a young bender or warrior, striving to keep the world going as it begins to shift and change before your very eyes. Work together with your equally-heroic comrades to keep the people of Republic City - and perhaps even the entire world - safe as new villains and forces beyond imagining seek to destabilize everything you've worked for!

About me

A writer, poet, and anthropologist, I love to introduce new players to the fantastical worlds I grew up in and love even more building new worlds with players of all experience levels (including no experience!) DMing is a passion of mine, something I am always striving to improve at: the physical world around me is littered with sourcebooks, notebooks, guides, print-outs, Post-Its, dice, half-painted miniatures, and other paraphernalia related to this incredible hobby. All of my games are LGBTQ+ friendly, and my tables are safe spaces where everyone is welcome, so long as they believe that everyone is welcome.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place during session zero. Players at session zero will be able to work together to build their characters as a team. Players joining after session zero will build their characters alongside the GM and will be integrated into the campaign.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a free Demiplane account (https://app.demiplane.com/home) to join in the game, and a free Discord account (https://www.discord.com) will be necessary for the voice calls.

What Gerald brings to the table

I will have the rules needed for the game available to players, as well as any other materials we'll need. I bring years of experience (and the experience of having run over 600 games on StartPlaying alone!) to the table, much of which was spent at conventions and online teaching new players! I also bring just... terrible character voices. Just the worst. 😃 Additionally, I bring with me a gaming community full of great weirdos. My Discord channel is full of fun people who love gaming in all its forms and fun conversations take place daily. We also run Community Events every month to bring new experiences to the table!

Safety

How Gerald creates a safe table

This game contains fantasy violence. The world of Avatar: Legends is one that is family-friendly, but can push the boundaries of "family-friendly" at times. Content warnings are non-comprehensive, due to the nature of a bunch of people coming together to hang out together while playing a game. If something comes up that makes you uncomfortable, there are many ways you can make that known, including X-Cards and Lines & Veils. You will never be expected or pressed to share your trauma history with anyone else at the table; simply saying "X this" is enough to change direction of the session.
