About the adventure

War has come to the world of Krynn. The Dragon Armies march across the land beneath the shadow of terrible dragons, and the followers of the Dragon Queen seek to plunge the world into darkness. In Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen, you will rise as unlikely heroes caught in the opening days of a devastating war. From desperate battles to ancient prophecies, your choices will shape the fate of Krynn itself. This campaign blends heroic storytelling, epic warfare, and dangerous dragon encounters as players explore a world under siege. You will face terrifying foes, uncover forgotten relics, and stand against the terrifying power of the Dragon Armies. Expect cinematic moments, tense decisions, and battles that feel like they are pulled straight from a fantasy novel. My games focus on immersive roleplay, fast-paced combat, and meaningful character stories. I love bringing NPCs to life with voices and personalities while weaving player backstories into the world. Combat will be tactical and dramatic, and the Rule of Cool is always welcome when it creates unforgettable moments. This game is perfect for both new and experienced players who want to experience one of D&D’s most legendary settings. If you enjoy dragons, heroic last stands, epic battles, and shaping the fate of a war-torn world, this adventure is for you.

About me

I’m GM Kam 🎲, a professional Game Master running cinematic, story-driven D&D and Cyberpunk RED campaigns where your choices truly matter. I got into tabletop about 12 years ago and have been GMing consistently with my adventuring group for the past 8 years—this is what I love to do 🔥 I specialize in original settings like Shadows of Verdania (political intrigue), Chains of Sith’Radoon (brutal survival), Ashen Gears (steampunk wasteland), Morenna’s Game (haunted horror), Beast of Tashnar (epic high-level play), and Order of the Eyes (West Marches across planes and time) 🌍 I love having new players at my tables 👥, but I do expect people to show up and be part of the story—this is a committed, immersive experience ⚔️ Private custom campaigns are $30 per player/session 💼, fully built around your group and your story. If you’re ready for something immersive, intense, and unforgettable—let’s play 👁️🔥

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created before the first session using D&D Beyond, and we will review them together at the beginning of Session 1 to make sure everything fits the world of Krynn. Characters will start at Level 1 as ordinary people caught in the opening days of the War of the Lance. For ability scores we will use Standard Array or Point Buy to keep things balanced. Players should build their characters using official 5e material, primarily from the 2024 Player’s Handbook and Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen. If you would like to use something from another official book, just run it by me first. Krynn has a unique lore and some races or options may not exist in the setting, so I may ask for small adjustments to help your character fit the world and story. I love weaving character backstories into the campaign, so feel free to bring a concept tied to the coming war, the gods, the Knights of Solamnia, or the looming Dragon Armies.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before the game begins, players should join my Discord server, which we will use for voice chat, announcements, and game communication. A link to the server will be provided once you join the game. Players will also need a D&D Beyond account to access the campaign for character sheets and shared content. We will be using D&D Beyond Maps for gameplay, and Roll20 may be used for additional maps or visuals during certain encounters. Please make sure your microphone is working, your character is created on D&D Beyond, and you have joined the Discord server before Session 1 so we can jump straight into the adventure.

What GM Kam brings to the table

I focus on creating an immersive and cinematic experience for my players. I enjoy bringing the world to life through character voices, detailed descriptions, and ambient music to help set the tone of each scene. Combat in my games is fast-paced, tactical, and high stakes, especially in a war setting like Dragonlance. Expect meaningful battles where positioning, teamwork, and strategy matter. Roleplay is a major part of my table. I love incorporating player backstories into the story so your character feels like a true part of the world of Krynn. While I respect the rules of the game, I also embrace the Rule of Cool when it creates memorable moments and great storytelling. Above all, I want players to feel like heroes shaping the fate of the world.

Homebrew rules

I run mostly Rules as Written, but I do use a few small homebrew adjustments to keep the game flowing and cinematic. I allow creative actions and the Rule of Cool when they make sense for the story. Potions can be used as a bonus action on yourself, but an action if used on another player. I also try to keep combat moving quickly by making rulings in the moment when needed.

Safety

How GM Kam creates a safe table

I want my table to be a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for everyone. We will begin with a quick discussion of boundaries so players can let me know if there are any themes or topics they would prefer to avoid. Players are always free to step away, message me privately, or speak up if something makes them uncomfortable. I will adjust the scene or move the story forward without question. My goal is to create a table where everyone feels comfortable roleplaying, taking risks, and enjoying the adventure together while respecting each other’s boundaries.
