About the adventure
Candela Obscura is a paranormal secret society whose charge is to protect the turn-of-the-century city of Newfaire from the strange, magickal, and occult. As members of this investigative organization, your mission is to rescue the teeming masses from the horrors that wish to destroy society as they know it. Creating your character
For this game, we will be using pregenerated character sheets. While the PCs' stats and abilities are set, their names, personalities, and backstories are your own to create! The pregens are: 1. A series of mysterious deaths in the art galleries of Newfaire have left investigators perplexed and concerned for the safety of the city’s more respectable citizens. Some eyewitnesses have spoken of a chilling, almost ghostly figure of a woman, but when questioned further, can’t agree on a description. Your Circle has been commanded by the Candela Obscura to investigate and come to the bottom of this mysterious apparition quickly... before the hourglass runs out.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Basic webcams and mics are perfectly fine! This isn't a streamed Actual Play, and the important thing is that we are able to see each other and understand one another. Basic understanding of the genre is of course helpful, but you don't need to be an expert in this brand-new game by any means! That's what I'm here for. You are welcome to have your own physical dice to play with, or you can use virtual dice as well.

How Anya creates a safe table
We will discuss the Lines & Veils list in a mini session zero prior to the game with names stripped away to be anonymous. There will be no graphic gore in this game, as it is one of my lines, and will be at most fade to black. If at any time a player needs to modify their Lines & Veils, they are absolutely welcome to message me privately and we will pivot/update that information accordingly. We take one 10-minute break in the middle of my sessions.
