About the adventure

In epic tales, heroes are the ones who stand strong against terrible odds, doing everything they can to protect the world until it all culminates in one final epic battle. A battle they are supposed to win, finally restoring peace and vanquishing evil. This time, the heroes failed. Despite all their hard work and all their struggle, evil won and their failure marked the beginning of a decade-long plague that has ravaged this country. Forests were covered in blight, swamps turned into toxic sludge, animals were corrupted turning into vicious beasts, vermin devastated the farms, and the rivers turned into ochre toxins. With all other kingdoms scrambling to isolate this land to protect their own, people were left here to suffer and struggle to survive. And this is where our story starts. Not in a hopeful beginning, but rather in a bitter end. As a small group of survivors band together to protect their last bastion of civilization, they will find it is up to them to struggle against these impossible odds and find the cures needed to save their home. ---- In this game, players will have to delve into terrible plagued lands in order to learn about the diseases afflicting their people so they can find the necessary ingredients for a cure. Meanwhile, they will also be responsible with managing their town, deciding where resources should go and how to best protect it from the constant dangers. This will be a game about gritty survival and resource management, with a balanced mix between challenging combat, dungeon crawling, and roleplay.

About me

Hey, everyone. After many years playing and GMing various types of games, I've decided to delve deeper into the hobby. I currently have my own website with RPG-related content, along with some board game goodness. I'm also working on a DnD book and some other stuff that I'm super excited to share with you all in the future. I have experience with many different systems. From the classic D&D to the edgy World of Darkness. From the futuristic Cypher to the gloriously queer Thirsty Sword Lesbians. I've really played it all (except for Gurps...that one gave me a headache). As a GM, I very much value roleplay and fun, with a good touch of chaos. Metagame is nearly useless in my games, as many monsters will have different abilities and other surprises I'll throw in. That medusa? She's a cursed human and kept her paladin levels. That hag is genuinely just a salesperson (just ignore some of the creepier products). Oh, and the dragon breathes hallucinogenic gas instead of fire. Good luck.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at level 1 or 2. The exact level and all other details will be decided during session zero. All official material will be allowed, as well as few third party books and some content I am creating specifically for this game.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using Foundry for the game and Discord for the calls. All players will be in my Discord server for the games.

What Felipe Lopez brings to the table

As a GM, I try to balance between going for Rule of Coll and Rules as Written. My real focus is on everyone at the game having fun and engaging in the story we're creating. I also will have ambient music, a variety of maps (both made by me or purchased), and a fully homebrew campaign designed by me. The players will also gain access to new subclasses inspired in the Darkest Dungeon games.

Homebrew rules

We will use different rules for diseases, such as changing immunity to something else. There will also be new rules for developing the city the party will be based at. All other homebrew rules will be discussed and decided together during session zero.

Safety

How Felipe Lopez creates a safe table

All players will fill out a lines and veils document and I also use digital X castds. During session zero we will also go over anything else we might need for the game.
