About the adventure
Curseborne is a modern urban horror TTRPG by Onyx Path Publishing using the Storypath Ultra system. Players roleplay as one of "the Accursed", be they Dead (ghosts and zombies), Hungry (vampires, of flesh or psyche), Outcasts (angels, demons, or something else and their fallen descendants), Primal (theriomorphs, and the beast within), or Sorcerers (magic users who must sacrifice something to keep control). These five options have a Damnation that makes them fundamentally supernatural, each with their own group of Lineages that manifest in slightly different ways. In this campaign you will play one of the accursed through at least three stories, the official "Accursed Adventures" released as a supplemental reward for backers on Kickstarter. These are mature stories with investigation, consequences, and the opportunity to do more than fight your way to the end. Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi, you can call me Eli and I love RPGs. I do not limit myself to the d20, I think the thing that has made me a strong gamemaster over the decades is playing as many TTRPGs as possible. I would love to explore new worlds and dimensions with you, or craft some together! My focus has always been the connection between players and the tales we tell without limiting our imaginations. My favorite games to play are Mage: The Awakening, Savage Worlds, and Fabula Ultima. My schedule is full, but if you are interested in gaming with me feel free to send a DM and hopefully we can work something out!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
The main characters for the campaign will be created together, at the free session zero, however I will also have pre-generated characters available. Curseborne is a relatively new TTRPG, we will use the basic character creation rules: Decide on a concept, choose a Lineage path, choose a Family path, choose a Role path, finalize Statistics, gain Edges and Spells, establish Character Bonds, and assign Aspirations.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
At minimum, players will need a microphone and Discord. I highly recommend the use of a computer, but a tablet or smartphone will enable play as well. I can generate a miniature for your character, but sending me art of them will help bring your vision to the table. Dice rolling is possible through Discord, as well as the virtual tabletop. I do permit players to use A.I. art for their characters at session zero and one, but I DO NOT use A.I. and I will replace the art with a human generated token as soon as possible.
What GM Comfortable Grey brings to the table
I will be bringing the entire game: rules, sheets, dice, maps, miniatures via the "Foundry VTT" software. There will be pregenerated characters, but a part of the fun at session zero will be the opportunity to make them your own, or make your own!
Homebrew rules
House Rules (Golden Rule: Treat others as you want to be treated, Red Rule: Mind control cannot force characters to perform acts that make players uncomfortable, and Rule of Cool: If the rules do not support your actions we can discuss the possibilities.) Safety Tools (Player driven breaks, lines [🍇 and SA do NOT exist in my universes], and veils [Torture, erotic scenes, or violence towards children may occur but will cause a "fade-to-black" in a scene.]) Players are encouraged to introduce their own lines or veils, publicly or privately.

How GM Comfortable Grey creates a safe table
As part of my open door policy players should feel invited to express discomfort, or praise at anytime during a session. Breaks: At anytime that you need a break there are Foundry modules to facilitate that, or feel free to message me, or speak openly in the session. After the session I like to discuss how the game went for everyone: what you liked, and what you think could be better, in the form of "Stars and Wishes." These can be for me, the tabletop, or other players.
