About the adventure
You arrived in Icewind Dale for your own reasons. Everyone does. But two years without sunlight has a way of making personal reasons feel small. The Ten Towns are starving. Trade routes are dead. Every night a goddess rides the dark sky and nobody who's gone looking for answers has come back with good ones. You're not here to be a hero. You're here because the tundra is the only place left that'll have you, and because something out on the ice keeps leaving tracks that don't match anything in the books. The cold isn't the problem. The cold is what someone wants you focused on. This campaign runs like a dark fantasy series where each session recontextualises what came before. Revelations don't arrive cleanly, they arrive the way the worst truths do, slowly, sideways, at the exact moment you least want them. The deeper you dig, the stranger it gets. The stranger it gets, the more you realise that two years of endless winter didn't just happen. It was built. Someone made this. And they've had two years to make sure you never find out why. Your choices shape what gets uncovered and what stays buried. The final session has no predetermined ending, it has the one your party builds.

About me
I've been running D&D since I was eleven. Seven years later I still haven't found a reason to stop. What keeps me coming back is the moment a player realises their character's past isn't decoration, it's the plot. That rivalry you wrote in your backstory? It's showing up in Act Two. That debt you thought was flavour? It just knocked on the door. I build toward those moments in every campaign I run, whether that's gothic horror in Barovia, dragon cults tearing across the Sword Coast, or a multiverse unravelling at the seams.I do voices because NPCs deserve to feel like people. I commission artwork for major characters because the details matter even when nobody notices them directly, though I think players feel them. I write session recaps within 24 hours because the story shouldn't fade between sessions. I play in other GMs' games too, because staying on the player side keeps me honest about what actually makes a session memorable versus what just sounds good in a pitch.Six campaigns a week. I genuinely cannot imagine spending my time differently. If you want a table where your choices echo forward and the story belongs to everyone sitting at it, there's a seat here.

Creating your character
Characters will begin at Level 3 to allow everyone to start with subclass identity and interesting abilities right away. Character creation will happen either during Session 0 or beforehand, depending on player preference. I will personally help players integrate their backstory into the campaign so your character feels like they belong in the world rather than just arriving randomly. Allowed sources: All official 5.5e/2024 material Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Xanathar's Guide to Everything and more Homebrew may be approved case-by-case if balanced and thematic. Stats will be generated using either: Standard Array Point Buy Rolled Stats Characters should have: A reason to travel to Icewind Dale A personal goal or motivation At least one unresolved problem or ambition The more you give me, the more the story will give back.

What Davi brings to the table
As a professional GM my focus is on creating an experience that feels closer to an interactive series than a casual game night. What you can expect: Character voices and distinct NPC personalities Dynamic ambient music and soundscapes Cinematic descriptions Tactical but fast-paced combat Player-driven story direction Foreshadowing and long-term plot payoff Consequences that matter My GM style emphasizes: - Player agency: Your decisions shape the world. - Respect for character investment: Backstories are not decoration they are story fuel. - Tension without frustration: Danger is real, but death is never meaningless. I also strongly believe in rewarding creativity, clever thinking, and bold decisions. If you want a GM that just reads boxed text, this isn't that table. If you want a story you feel part of, you're in the right place.
Homebrew rules
To improve pacing and enjoyment: Potions may be consumed as a bonus action (action for full effect if used on others) Critical hits deal max damage plus rolled dice Inspiration is awarded for strong roleplay and clever ideas and many more
