About the adventure

Welcome! Drawing inspiration from many sources, we are starting with the published adventure, The Sunlit Citadel, but adapted to fit my world. This is an adventure for everyone, no matter how new or seasoned. it is a classic tale just waiting for you to put your mark upon its page. Histories are full of events that have shaped the world. But the truth is often more accurately told in the footnotes... the small stories that show how a single person helped to change the course of events. Very often the significance of choices are not realized at the time but only in the lenses of hindsight. How will you leave your mark and annotate the footnotes of history? Starting in the small, but growing, port city of Catspaw, you will be hired to travel to the nearby village of Oakhurst. The children of the Hurcrele family, budding adventurers in their own right, have not been heard from in several weeks. They were last known to be investigating goblin activity reported around Oakhurst. It is up to you to find out what you can and report back anything you can find out.

About me

Greetings and salutations! I am Adam and I have been playing TTRPGs off and on since Moldvay Basic D&D came out. Thankfully, I have been able to play almost as much as I have been the GM, but never as frequently as I would like. Personal favorites are Shadowrun, Star Wars (d6), Call of Cthulhu, and of course, D&D over its many iterations. (The only version I haven't played is 4e due to raising a family) I have both played and run games at conventions when I was younger which was awesome since it allowed me to meet so many other fans of this fantastic hobby. And it is still a great way to dip your toe into the vast pool that the hobby has exploded into. Cons are great to get inspiration and try new things. When I run games, I like to run a balance between established classic published adventures to start things off allowing characters to get comfortable in their skins. From there, I will weave in my own home brew to create an environment that is truly unique and guided by the players actions, choices, and back story. I don't run dark storylines but I do strive for tension and meaning. The goal is for us to have fun playing make believe together in a safe space away from the rest of the world. There is no room here for bias, judgement, or disrespect. So bring your love of exploration, chaos, and story to the table and let's see what kind of tapestry of lore we can create!

What GreyWoulf (Adam) brings to the table

My games are narrative driven, full of excitement and fun. Roleplay and player choices determine the path while the rules and rolls will guide conflict resolution. Combats are meant to be exciting and efficient so Rule of Cool may be invoked by either side as appropriate to keep the story flowing. I do my best to provide distinction to the tone and timbre of the voices of my NPCs so that they are easier to distinguish and remember. I will apologize in advance, but I do not use background music as I can find it distracting at times.

Homebrew rules

- Informational rolls (e.g. Investigation, Perception, Arcana, Religion) can be 'subtle' at player choice. (Subtle = DM will make the roll secretly and provide a description based on the result) - Death saves will be private - Stacking dis/advantage (all sources of dis/advantage will be calculated before determining the final benefit/penalty) - Perkins Critical - Total damage = (Dice Maximum + modifiers) + roll of dice - Drinking a healing potion for yourself can be done as either a bonus action or an immediate reaction to taking damage. However, if you take a full action then you will automatically receive maximum healing. - Excess health gain from curative magic is not lost, after all damage is healed, any leftover healing becomes temporary HP until the end of the encounter
