About the adventure

Within Miskatonic University's Library there is a door behind which is a gallery of exhibits that should not exist. It's not on any plans and only one persons guards the secret of that room - Henry Armitage. Once in a while one of those exhibits become restless - on canvas images shift, a music instrument emits noise it should not, a wardrobe's door keeps opening no matter how many times you close it. If they are not pacified strange things will happen but to calm them they need human attention - your attention. And when attention is given, the exhibits give back - they draw you into their story that needs to be experienced. Preferably sane and alive at the end. You are one of Curators of the Nightfall Gallery, a group of people bound by vows to guard the gallery and contain whatever is inside because otherwise the results could be catastrophic. 🔍 A Journey Through Time The Gallery’s collection spans generations. Our "Exhibits" move fluidly through the dark history of the Mythos: • The Gaslight Era (1890s): Navigate the fog-choked streets of Victorian London and the gothic horrors of the Old World. • The Classic Era (1920s): Experience the roaring heights and cosmic lows of the Prohibition era and Arkham’s golden age of mystery. • The Modern Era: Face the terrifying intersection of ancient gods and high-tech isolation. ... and beyond. 🔍 Why Join This Gallery? Drop-In, Drop-Out Flexibility: Play a single "Exhibit" or become a regular. No long-term commitment required. Each exhibit should take 1 - 3 sessions. Persistent Progress: While the settings shift, your standing with the Restricted Collection grows. Your characters carry their scars, secrets, and successes across time. Every Flavor of Fear: From high-octane "Pulp" action to slow-burn psychological dread. Beginner Friendly: No prior experience with the d100 system is needed. You will be provided everything you need to begin your investigation. Players will have their say about choice of scenarios - we can together choose a specific one that you always wanted to play or you can suggest what type of story you would like to be part of. The doors to the Gallery are never truly locked. Are you ready to see what's behind the frame? Current/upcoming scenarios will be specified in "Current Party" section below.

About me

I believe that written text conveys only a small fraction of who I am and for sure it doesn't convey character as well as a short video clip does. So I recorded a small "hi" video for you - https://youtu.be/BjBTNa-oBvY Hi — I'm Jacek (he/him), your new Game Master! Whether you’re seeking eldritch mysteries, gritty horror, or cozy investigation, I’m here to guide you through compelling stories with heart and tension. I started my adventure in mid 90s when I ran my first games - AD&D 2e and Call of Cthulhu and basically became forever GM as this is what I enjoy most about roleplaying. Despite being in the hobby for some time now I always try to improve my games - not by revolutions but by small steps. I most enjoy and regularly run Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green and Dragonbane. I got a dog called Migo, I love getting lost during long hikes in the woods and enjoy long distance trail running. I used to run actual play show where I did record my sessions. Those are in Polish but you can turn on autotranslate for subtitles and get a general feeling how do I run my games. Some of them include real life table recordings, some of them have talking heads from online plays and some are audio only. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/@61012

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters should be made before session so we can start the game right away. I highly encourage to use Dhole's House for this. If you never played Call of Cthulhu before and have no clue what's the process I will guide you through it - it's quite simple and choices to be made are quite intuitive. Reach out to me regarding any questions - all type of characters are welcome and due to different scenarios there's little chance of creating charactors tailored to the specific story. Just make one that will be fun to roleplay!

The current party

Unless anyone will propose something else we will kick off with Crack's and Crook'd manse - a classic haunted house scenario!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I highly encourage use of webcams and dedicated microphones when possible. Beside this all you need is Discord account as we will be having all the communications there. Foundry will be our virtual table primarily for character sheets, virtual dice and handouts. I will provide you access to Foundry right before the game starts. If you don't have experience with Foundry - no worries - I will answer any questions as needed.

What Jacek brings to the table

I will set up virtual table on Foundry with all handouts needed and ready for each scenario. There will also be investigation board for you to link all your findings with fellow players in a coherent fashion. I will have some moody music tracks ready to roll when needed (not all the time, just to spice things up). This game is primarily theatre of the mind type of game so the focus here is on roleplaying and figuring stuff out - Foundry VTT use here is primarily utilitarian to have character sheets and dice at hand not to have gimmicks you wouldn't expect at regular table.

Safety

How Jacek creates a safe table

I will use Safety Tools module on Foundry so each player has access to anonymous tools to halt possible disturbing content. We will have session zero to set the table rules and etiquette and those will be communicated to new players in seperate onboarding.
