About the adventure

A small-time crew are given a shot by a benefactor who sees their natural talent. Going by Thane, he desires to pull a legendary heist, but he needs a talented crew he can trust. Using his contacts, he gets job offers for different heists and jobs. The crew picks what they want to try, then they will receive a packet of information to help plot the job. The first job Thane has lined up is an Armored Truck Robbery, which is ripe for the picking. Use whatever tactics you want and are skilled at, like a Demolition Man could use C4 to blow the door, a Con Man could convince a hostage driver to open it willingly, or a Thug could beat and scare a guard until they do it, etc. Each job allows for quick advancement for the heisters, who can gain new skills, improve existing ones, or even gain increased Attributes like Strength & Intelligence. With each improvement, more advanced jobs will become available, including multi-day jobs or ones that need major prep time. Players can be expected to treat each job like a puzzle, where they can plot the possibilities with their fellow heisters. They can even hire other criminals, use contacts, and employ complex tactics that video games could never emulate, like following a bank manager to gain evidence to blackmail him with prior to the formal bank robbery. Multiple jobs will be offered at a time after the Prologue Armored Truck Heist, including jobs that require travel, even international, and new skills, tools, or personnel. About me

I am a longtime TTRPG GM that loves Pathfinder & GURPS, with a large library of books, art assets, and time to share with my players, it is my favorite thing to do. I am a huge fan of roleplay and often modify mechanics to benefit storytelling & session fluidity. I use Foundry VTT, which is free to my players, and includes vast customization options for every campaign & every participant. Please take a look at this Google Sheet for all of my GURPS games: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OIi-Yp_5L2k4LvJ_L-YxgZ_YF7QIsZr4h0PIoit8fKM/edit?usp=sharing

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be made in GURPS Character Sheet (GCS) a free program with a large database of character-building assets. The characters are made with 150 Character Points, -40 Disadvantage Limit. Each player will get a chance to consult with the other players in the Discord server, but ultimately will end up making the character with the GM, before their debut on Session 1.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Have a Discord & Forge Account, as Discord is used for all communication and The Forge is used to host the Foundry VTT game. Both accounts are free to make and maintain. Players should also read GURPS 4th Edition Basic Set, Chapters 1 - 4 to learn how to make an average character. Additional reading ideas will be provided during the character-making process as well as during the Session 0.

What John brings to the table

Foundry VTT, which is free to players, a library of GURPS 4e books that will be available to players, and custom art assets & maps, some powered by AI. Ambient music will be used to set the tone and mood of a location or scene. Combat & Puzzles are important elements, as it will be up to players how to complete a job. If you use violence, then Combat use goes up, and tactical thinking will be as far as Puzzles go. However, if you abstain from violence, thus Combat, you will have harder Puzzles to solve. An example would be breaking into a security office and taking the officer hostage versus tapping into their system and hacking access to the cameras. Roleplaying will be highly encouraged, and 4th wall breaks will be minimal. The idea is to live the life of your character, which will award players with bonus points to upgrade their character.

Safety

How John creates a safe table

The GM and players will have a Session 0 where they discuss content they don't want to see, and how to go forward so everyone is happy. Players can also discuss breaks, as needed, for longer sessions.
