About the adventure

The mists have captured you and taken you to a bleak land. It is ruled by the vampire Strahd von Zarovich. The people suffer under his dread rule. They have given up hope that they might free themselves of Strahd. There is no chance to escape this land. The mists of Barovia keep them trapped here. Even death is no reprieve from the pain and suffering. The only means of escape is to slay the ruler of this world, and free the land of his curse forever. - Explore cold towns, deep forests, and desolate moors as you search for a means to destroy the dreaded vampire. - Uncover the secrets of Castle Ravenloft and learn its sad history. - Battle with werewolves, witches, ghouls, and, finally, a Vampire Lord as you try to survive. Come and experience one of the most famous Dungeons & Dragons adventures of all time, updated for the new 2024 ruleset! Highlights from reviews: - "Rob is extremely collaborative in telling the story of the game both taking feedback and cues from the player but also setting up breadcrumbs to them to follow. I'd highly suggest taking a seat at his table." - "Rob is a great GM. He knows the rules and the encounters, but treats them like the guidebook they are and not like rigid obstacle courses. He'll let you play the way you want, and will run with the bits you enjoy." - "Rob’s great, he isn’t overly strict on the rules especially for beginners like me but he does draw fair lines which I think is important. He does voices and gives NPCs a little extra flavor and character which is fun, he is extremely patient and good at explaining how things work and will work with you to help you build your character and try to integrate their background into the story even if it’s a by-the-book oneshot adventure which I enjoyed."

About me

Who am I? A GM who loves to tell shared stories and laugh a lot. A GM with a background in writing, who focuses on story and creativity. A person who strives to make a safe and inclusive space so that people can feel free to role play with one another. My tables are a place of peace in a tumultuous world, and I do my best to maintain that peace. With one of my games you can expect: - A focus on roleplay, and the room to explore character relationships - Player driven narratives. You are the heroes. It's your story. - Full voice acting, and some physical performance to go with it -For games with a focus on combat, tactical thinking will trump character builds or anything else. Be smart: not every combat is booked for you to win. - To laugh harder than you have all week!

What Rob Zakes - Ramble On Games brings to the table

I have most books on D&D Beyond, and players will be able to make use of them to create their characters. The Virtual Table Top will be handled by D&D Beyond, including dice rolls and maps.

Homebrew rules

Some houserules include: drinking potions as a bonus action, flanking rules, and ways to help enhance combat and exploration. More details can be found once you join the group's Discord server.
