About the adventure

This is a game for experienced dorks, but This is a game for experienced dorks, but casual gamers. You should have a familiarity with what role-playing is, but don’t have to ever have played before. As a former teacher, I will act as your guide through an exploration of the world and your character development. Using an extensive pre-built module, provides us with many fleshed out options for how a game can proceed. The freedom this gives our game is unrivaled due to it’s extensive playtesting and revisions. In D&D, you truly create the story even if someone else has created a world that you experience. We will start with introductory sessions to get you familiar with your own character and help the party form cohesiveness. This section of the campaign ends after level 3, but we will have subsequent levels after that should the party (or members of the party) wish to continue.

About me

Lifelong dork, I have always loved gaming. From board games, video games, sports, and roleplaying, I truly enjoyed them all. My bachelor's degree is in Drama and I spent a great deal of my life in improv and acting. My career is an education and I am currently a Middle School Principal and relish how much I get to see my students enjoying the world as they explore their own imaginations. I run a DND club with students, but also enjoy adult DND games as well. I began playing AD&D with my brother and father when I was in elementary school and have played many different versions since. We explored different TTRPGs growing up, but Dungeons and Dragons has always been a staple.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created at level 5 between session 0 and our start. Pre-built characters will also be available should it be requested. This is set in the Forgotten Realms domain and all characters are made in Roll20 itself.

The current party

We can be a good party exploring for treasure or to rescue our family, or we can be an evil party looking for domination. This will be determined once we have some sign up.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A Roll20 account is all you need to be able to play. We will correspond via e-mail or Discord server based on your preferences as a party. https://discord.gg/NsspYBaN https://app.roll20.net/join/20245804/U7Tszg

What Trey brings to the table

As a GM, I like to build the experience that my gamers prefer. I have used ambient music in the past, but don't overly rely on outside materials to set the stage for players. I do tend to stick to traditional rules as written, but have been known to make up rules as the game develops. The purpose of the experience is to build a collaborative story enhanced by the rulebook as a guide, not hindered by dogmatic fealty to source material.

Safety

How Trey creates a safe table

In our Session 0, we will review our Lines and Veils as well as general expectations for player and GM conduct. A paper with an "X" on it should be shown on camera to indicate that something has triggered uncomfortable feelings and should be avoided. For follow-up on each session if we don't have time at the end, a message will be sent to participants via e-mail for stars (what was enjoyed) in that session and wishes (what you want) for future sessions.
