About the adventure

This is the perfect dungeon delver for moderately experiences players. Set in the Forgotten Realms, this campaign takes place in a rustic area known as the Somber Hills. The players will fight against the evil machinations of four separate cults, each dedicated to one of the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. On the surface, they will face a mystery style adventure as they learn about the Somber Hills and the rich history of this area of the world. It isn't long before their adventure takes them underground through a series of dungeon strongholds, facing off against countless enemies. The adventure culminates in an epic standoff against a god-like ultimate enemy.

About me

I've been playing and GM'ing roleplaying games (with an emphasis on Dungeons & Dragons) for over 10 years. I enjoy high-fantasy with elements of magi-tech. Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, and Devil May Cry are some of my favorite game series.

Character creation

Creating your character

Using dndbeyond, please create a character using standard array or point buy for ability scores. For classes, species, backgrounds: please use any published D&D official material (no homebrew). We will use a mixture of 2014 and 2024 rules. I have the 2024 Players Handbook (as well as some other books) shared to the group on dnd beyond, so all of that content will be readable if you join the D&D Beyond campaign below.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will use dndbeyond for character sheets and maps. The link for this campaign is here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/campaigns/join/71580513619547336 We will use discord for voice. The link for that server is here: https://discord.gg/ZN7tnhuK

What DM Nate brings to the table

I have the book for this adventure, so you will experience the written game. I will do my best to do interesting character voices to immerse you in the story. I will provide interesting maps and pictures to help immerse you as well. I know the rules as written very well, but I like to bend the rules if a character comes up with a cool or creative idea.

Homebrew rules

Flanking gives advantage on melee attack rolls. Drinking or administering a potion can be a bonus action or a standard action. If you use your action instead of a bonus action, you will get the maximum amount of healing. Heroic Inspiration can be used in both the 2014 way and the 2024 way. And we can discuss any additional house rules.

How DM Nate creates a safe table

We will have a session zero where we will discuss lines and veils. We will use X, Y, and Z's during gameplay so players can share any triggers in real time. We will use Stars and Wishes for aftercare.
