About the adventure
This revamp of the classic adventure is sure to keep you on your toes. A mix of Dungeon Crawler Carl and classic D&D tropes leads to the players being contestants in a "game show" orchestrated by the Mad Mage himself, complete with commercial breaks and minigames. Can you survive the shenanigans? Will you endure the advertisments? What happens if you survive Halaster's game? Levels 5-20. It's not all shenanigans and hijinks however, the furthur down you go the more the madness of the mage becomes evident. I mean, just how crazy do you have to be to live-stream adventurers trying to escape your dungeon? As you make your way deeper, you'll soon realize: ππ'π£π πππ π πππ₯π₯ππ πππ ππ π¨π πππ£π. ππππππ: βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ ππππππππ: πππ πππππππππππ: πΊοΈπΊοΈπΊοΈπΊοΈ πππππππ: π§©π§© ππππ πππππ: πππ

About me
Just your average nerd trying to play more d&d. Have you ever had a friend be volun-told to DM a game? That was me. But then I loved it, so here we are. I enjoy puns, silly side plots, and trying to not laugh when my players come up with wacky ideas like drowning the ogre using an immovable rod. I run 5e content and run game RAI (Rules as intended) or ROC (Rule of cool). I do use supplemental material to add in or take things out to make the game run in a smoother/more exciting way. So even if you've played a module before, it'll be different this time around! I've currently run: Curse of Strahd π§ π©Έ x1 Tomb of annihilation π¦π΄ x2 Lost mine of Phandelver β°οΈπ‘οΈ x1 Out of the Abyss ππΏ x5 Storm King's Thunder π©οΈπ x1 Wild beyond the Witchlight π π§π½ x3 Dungeon of the Mad Mage β°οΈπ§πΌ x1 Vecna - Eve of Ruin ποΈποΈx3 I have wrapped up the above games in 6-12 months (Curse of Strahd lasted 15 months, Mad mage is still ongoing but will likely last 2 years) If you are looking for a DM for a corporate event, message me for prices. I've done both entertainment and team building events. πBtw the banner pictures are art that a player did for the various shenanigans that happened over a few campaigns. Creating your character
This will happen in session 0. We can discuss the characters, classes, and races you are interested in playing and try to put together a cohesive team. No edgy loner types, this is a cooperative campaign. Starting level will be 5. We will be using 2024 Core & the Heroes of Faerun source books. We will be using only content from those sources for this reimagining of the Mad Mage.
Expect this group to be very laid back and silly. A heavy lean into humor with a "beer and pizza" style group: great for decompressing after work.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: - a D&D Beyond and Roll 20 account. (basic is fine) - You will need at minimum a mic, webcam is not necessary if you don't want to be on camera (though it is more fun to see reactions) - Have a basic idea of at least the character you want to play, and by the end of session 0, a description so I can make the tokens if you don't have art that you want to use. - a strong desire to delve into a seemingly never ending dungeon
What Belle brings to the table
Here's what I bring: - maps with use of dynamic lighting - background music to set the vibe. - bad attempts at character voices - tissues for when the dungeon claims your character Things we will track: rations π² (including harvesting of monster meat) water π Things we won't track: common arrows/bolts πΉ
Homebrew rules
Outlined in the session Zero notes, but include: *Action to drink a potion is full healing *Death saves are NOT public to keep up the tension *Hero coins to reward good RP (add to a failed d20 roll) *Contested rolls for grapples *Stealth vs Passive Perception *Some spell restrictions in Undermountain (blame Halaster)
