About the adventure

--- STORY --- You’ve been invited to the Winter Solstice celebration of the legendary Archmage Nakatomi. His towering spire dominates Celestial City, and tonight its upper floors are filled with nobles, scholars, and powerful wizards celebrating the season in extravagant style. But the festivities are shattered when a group of ruthless mercenaries storms the tower and takes everyone hostage. Their mysterious leader, known only as “The Hands,” has come for revenge… and a fortune hidden in the archmage’s vault. With magic suppressed and the city guard manipulated, the heroes may be the only people in the tower capable of stopping the villains’ plan. Sneak through air ducts. Improvise weapons from fallen enemies. Turn the tower itself into your battlefield. Because tonight, the party isn’t just a celebration. It’s a siege! --- GAMEPLAY --- This play-by-post adventure is a high-energy fantasy action scenario inspired by classic 80s action films. Instead of a linear dungeon crawl, the tower is a dynamic environment where players decide how to approach the crisis. You’ll explore multiple floors of the archmage’s tower, rescue hostages, sabotage the villains’ plan, and engage in tense encounters with roaming mercenaries. Expect stealth, clever tactics, improvised solutions, and cinematic moments rather than straightforward combat. The adventure features: • Open-ended problem solving rather than a fixed path • Environmental action scenes across multiple floors of a tower • Limited magic forcing creative play and teamwork • Loot-as-you-go combat, scavenging gear from defeated enemies • Action-movie tone with dramatic set pieces and heroic risks If you enjoy clever plans, tense infiltration, and explosive finales, this game is built for you.

About me

I specialise in running Dungeons & Dragons adventures and I like to inject a bit of humour into them all. I follow the nr1 rule that "D&D is about having fun!" I have been doing fantasy games all my life and love making stories for others, and enjoy seeing my players interact. I like to get to know my players and their characters and tweek the story to give them something personal to chew on. For my homebrew adventures I like to use popular cultural references in my games, especially when naming monsters (like a quiz) and crazy NPCs. I use Discord, Owlbear Rhodeo and Theatre of the mind with some AI images to make the experience more immersive. I really like running Play-by-Post adventures as we get to know each other over a longer period of timme and on a daily basis. For me running games is like spending time with people who enjoy each others creativity.
