About me

Hey there! I’m Wendel — I’ve been rolling dice and chasing adventure in TTRPGs since 2021! I’ve always loved fantasy novels and video games, but discovering tabletop games opened up a whole new way to tell stories with friends instead of just reading or playing through them. I’ve been GMing a D&D campaign for the past two years, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: no plan survives contact with the players — and that’s where the magic happens. I love setting the stage, watching chaos unfold, and turning wild, unexpected moments into stories we’ll laugh about for years.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation doesn't need to be started before our session 0, but if you already have ideas in mind, feel free! We will be using DnDBeyond for character creation as it integrates with AboveVTT. All officially published sources from Wizards of the Coast are allowed. No third party content or homebrew please. It is recommended that you uncheck the boxes for homebrew, legacy/noncore, and Enable all Partnered Content to avoid any mistakes. We will be using fixed hitpoints, and leveling up will be a milestone system.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a DndBeyond account to create your character and to access our campaign on AboveVTT. AboveVtt is a browser extension that you can download on either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. You just need to download it, no seperate account necessary. We will be using Discord for voice. You will need an account for Discord and a working mic. Webcams are optional. If you have any issues with setup, please let me know.

What Wendel Michaud brings to the table

I'll be providing maps, and content sharing for most of the official character options (if I don't have access to an official feat or other option you want to use, we can still try and work it in.) I run D&D because I love it, and want others to love it. I prioritize fun and comfort. I do voices, but I don't expect others to. As long as you're here for a good time, you're welcome at my table no matter your experience with the game.

Safety

How Wendel Michaud creates a safe table

Everyone's safety and comfort is very important to me. We will be going over what we would and wouldn't like to show up in our game during session 0. We will also be taking breaks during session, and I always leave an open door for private messages about any issue that can come up.
