About the adventure

Eternal night has fallen on Icewind Dale, the frozen country in the north. People in the Ten Towns have started huddling in their homes. They refuse to go out into the streets for fear what waits in the dark. A deep and never-ending cold dwindles the people and their resources. Soon there will be nothing left. Now is the time for heroes to step up and save the towns from the dangers they face. Strap on your cold weather gear and get ready to venture out into the frozen dark. • Journey to the far reaches of Icewind Dale and face the many mysteries and dangers that plague it. • Stop an invading army in their tracks, before their war of conquest lays waste to the peaceful people of Ten Towns. • Conquer the tower of a god and stop the eternal darkness that blankets the land. • Delve into a frozen maze, uncovering the long lost secrets of an ancient age. Band together, hold up your torch, and explore the strange beauty of a world of ice.

About me

Who am I? A GM who loves to tell shared stories and laugh a lot. A GM with a background in writing, who focuses on story and creativity. A person who strives to make a safe and inclusive space so that people can feel free to role play with one another. My tables are a place of peace in a tumultuous world, and I do my best to maintain that peace. With one of my games you can expect: - A focus on roleplay, and the room to explore character relationships - Player driven narratives. You are the heroes. It's your story. - Full voice acting, and some physical performance to go with it -For games with a focus on combat, tactical thinking will trump character builds or anything else. Be smart: not every combat is booked for you to win. - To laugh harder than you have all week!

Creating your character

Character creation can be completed prior to the game or during Session 0. The following rules will apply: - Players will be using 5.5e (2024) rules. - Characters will be created at level 1. - Players may roll for stats, use standard array, or use point buy. - Classes will be restricted to those that make sense in the Forgotten Realms setting. Content from other settings and from 3rd party content can only be used with approval from the GM. Homebrew will not be allowed. - There will be no magic items at character creation. This includes consumables such as potions. Notice: If joining this campaign after the session 0, characters must be created at least an hour before start time.

What Rob Zakes - Ramble On Games brings to the table

We'll use maps and ambient music to set the mood for the adventure. I'll help bring the world to life through voice acting and performances. Combat difficulty will scale to the party, in order to keep the adventure fun and engaging. Players should expect an experience that they get to drive. It will be my job to respond to what you want to do and what directions you'd like to go in.

How Rob Zakes - Ramble On Games creates a safe table

We will use Lines & Veils as well as X cards in order to maintain player safety. Table safety is important to me in order to create a safe and inclusive space. Safety tools will be handled by the Virtual Tabletop.
