About the adventure
You. An individual, a singular acting force that would normally have no power in a city controlled by the noble houses of Moonset Ayuma. They were blessed with magics and teachings by the Mighty Koi before they were driven off or killed. They control almost all of the important systems in Moonset, all that they created. Seemingly, most aren't willing to share their gifts, especially the Moonset Enforcement Agency, formed of the three houses blessed with truth-seeking, locating, and and dark. And what do you have? Opportunity. Even floodlights spare a little shadow here and there. Slip through the cracks of a struggling society of manifested mythos trying to adapt to the strict grip of the Technocratic Council of Ayuma, curry favor of the noble houses, rise against them with the aid of the many criminal syndicates that run the underworld, or go it alone in the advanced city of Moonset Ayuma! This campaign is the alternative variant for the Moonset Ayuma Westmarch, which is for special missions call Operations (Mini-Arcs). This setting takes inspiration from Eberron, as well as uses resources from it with the Eberron: Forge of the Artificer book, as well as uses content from Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Well Hello there! I'm Lattendel, or Latte for short. I'm a intermediate producer who also enjoys voice acting and TTRPGS like Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, Pathfinder 1st and 2nd Edition, and Wicked Ones/Blades in the Dark, though I find most of my time as a Game Master, writing stories and telling tales to my players. Having played in and run games ever since I was in the late stage of elementary school, I've got quite a bit of experience with the chaos that is a D&D campaign. I tend to run player-first narrative campaigns focused on the world the characters are in and how they survive, or how it survives them instead. Joining one of my campaigns will lead you down a rabbit hole of your own making, with narrative ties pulling you into the fray and tough decisions, as well as an open world ready to be traversed with matching music. As an artist, I strive to make as little use of Generative AI as much as I can. All music I use in my games have and will be made by yours truly, and art will be made by a human as best I can deduce. I'm not saying it won't get past me, but I won't use it intentionally. Regardless of my stance on it, you are free to use GenAI in the creation of your characters, though I would prefer if you wrote their backstory rather than AI writing it for you, even if its bad.

Creating your character
We'll using additional content from Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms and Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, so if you would like to use any of the content from that module, you may. No other restrictions on Class, Race, or Background. Make what you want as long as it can somewhat fit in the setting! 2014 and 2024 content are both allowed, just don't double up on the same thing. ex. don't have the same class twice with multiclass or the same feat twice between two editions. Character Creation: - Level 3 - Point Buy for Ability Scores - One Uncommon or Common Magic Item OR a Magical Prostheses no Rarity higher than Uncommon (RGYR) - 75 Extra Starting gold to buy equipment - Origin Feat for those who aren't using a background that already gives them a Feat. Backstory: All I need is about a paragraph of stuff to work with, but if you feel like writing, no more than 20 pages, please! And please give your characters a reason to adventure! Homebrew is allowed, but please please please ask me first! As we know, homebrew can be incredibly unbalanced, so I ask you show me what you're wanting to use so I can approve it. Generally, I will, but I still need to check to be safe.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll be using D&D Beyond for characters sheets, but don't fret if you don't have any of the books or content on that platform! I will provide a DDB Campaign with Content Share with all the currently available content for players including 5e 2024 so that way you have access to everything either when making your character, or in pursuit of an item or creature. For our maps, we'll use Roll20, so make sure you have an account (it's free)! Lastly, we'll be using Discord to communicate. I'll see messages much quicker on Discord than I will here on Start Playing. On Discord, there will be a server with all game-related information, including, but not limited to: - Session notes - Player tokens - Scheduling for a Month in Advance - Important Links - Homebrew Rules - World Info - And More
What DM Latte brings to the table
As a GM, I'm heavily focused on providing an environment to make you as a player get creative. I want to tell a story with you, but I can't really do that if I don't give you something to work with. For that reason, I usually provide a visual element for you to look at when I'm describing an environment or a person. Sometimes, these visuals can be determined by the players, usually if it's a home or home base. Additionally, I aim for a player-driven narrative. The story, while it may have background elements, is focused on you and your party. Your actions will have consequences, good and bad. I have a wide vocal range and do some nice voices, but I also use in-house music that I have made for the game! I do it as a hobby and it's a way to practice new stuff, so expect Boss fights to have their own themes (eheheheh)! I usually stick to RAW, but I absolutely will allow Rule of Cool when something cool could happen! For big baddies, I always ask how you put them down, so feel free to freestyle on a guy to pass on your kill to someone else if they're next to you. I'll even give you inspiration if it's super cool!

How DM Latte creates a safe table
We'll go over in more detail during a Session 0 what we wish not to encounter in the campaign, but prior to that, fill out this RPG Consent Checklist! It'll help me and other provide a much safer space to muck around and become heroes in. https://mcpl.info/sites/default/files/images/consent-in-gaming-form-fillable-checklist-2019-09-13.pdf
