About the adventure

"The Liberation of Freedale" is an exploration focused "west marches" campaign centered around the groups bastion, Freedale. As you adventure through the world around you, you will gather allies, supplies, and resources to restore and revitalize the once abandoned city of Freedale. Since this campaign is a "west marches" style campaign each session will be a contained mission, or episode, in the larger overarching plot. This removes some of the stress of attending each and every session and allows for some scheduling leeway. My goal is to run this official Dungeons and Dragons module as beginner friendly as possible. I encourage new players to take a seat at the table and solidify their budding knowledge of the game while being surrounded by a supportive and fun loving group. As a DM I am light on the rules and heavy on the exploration and adventure. My priority is to cultivate an environment where you can dive into your character and their mechanics while experiencing a rich world full of amazing thrills and interesting NPCs.

Character creation

Creating your character

Before our first session you will receive a link to DND Beyond campaign where you will have access to the books that I currently have under my subscription. I ask, for compatibility and easy-of-use, that you create a character using the source material in that link. All characters will start at level 3. If you do not want to create a character, there are some pre-made characters of my design you can choose. Please let me know before the first session and I can provide you with more information.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I primarily use DND Beyond to organize character sheets and utilize the site's Virtual Table Top (VTT), as well as Discord to facilitate communication between all of us. Before our first session I will provide you with a link to a Discord server where we will communicate during and between sessions.

What Gneight the GM brings to the table

My goal is to provide you with a fun and energetic sessions that fosters teamwork and collaboration to complete a common goal. I want to work together with each player to create an exciting atmosphere that all of us can enjoy. I may not be good at character voices, but I strive to create enough role play and exploration opportunities so that you can grow to love your character, even if we are playing for a short amount of time.

Safety

How Gneight the GM creates a safe table

Safety during a TTRPG session is my number one priority. Before our first session you will receive a link to a survey where you will provide your "Lines" and "Veils" during a game. If, at any time during the session, you feel uncomfortable with the topics or themes we are discussing please send an X in our group Discord or as a direct message to me. That way we as a group can make sure everyone is comfortable at the table.
